the guy at the phone place said the FUNNIEST thing
"Oh you should wait til July THEN you can have your phone upgrade for the price you THINK is fair, until then it's OUR fair retail price of $219."
Oh did I LAUGH. And his speech - "Gee, you can just wait til JULY!" all excited.
And as I walked out I said "well, that's not exactly the solution I have in mind. Thanks, I'll just go somewhere else."
I like the service area I have, but it might not be worth it for the crap I get trying to do ANYTHING in any of the stores. Of course, this is the same store that the manager told me I was "Stupid" for not upgrading to the plan HE thought I should be on, and then proceeded to talk loudly over my head about football, as I told the actual NICE guy waiting on me "Well, because of him, I obviously don't want to upgrade, and you don't get a commission, you know that right?" I think it might be this particular store. I've never had this rudness problem in the other stores I've chanced to be in. I think I might stop into Emerald Square over the weekend. My favorite mall never lets me down.
Heh, wait til July. I was thinking of saying "Hey, maybe that $120 could come in more handy by me severing my contract with you, and going where I can get more minutes, for less money AND a free phone, eh?" *laughs*
I'm going to email them in the meantime, see if some other human can give me the runaround as well. *grins*

Three separate programs for the price of one
- one for books
- one for CDS
- one for DVDs/ Movies
very Spiffy. I can't wait til I actually get to USE it *sighs*
Re: wholly unrelated
Date: 2004-01-15 10:07 am (UTC)uh, why can't you use it?
Re: wholly unrelated
Date: 2004-01-16 08:23 am (UTC)I can't use it because I don't have the time.
not because I'm having problems. It's distrubingly simple to use. although when it doesn't find my fricking import CDs, I get a bit put out. Even from Amazon.com (YOu can search tons of online sites for info. Wheee!)
verizon
Date: 2004-01-14 06:44 pm (UTC)now, the only provider i might switch to is sprint, but i'm still trying to decide if its worth it.
Re: verizon
Date: 2004-01-14 07:20 pm (UTC)When I was in Attleboro, and wanted to BUY a new earpiece, the guy totally wouldn't let me, and got me the replacement, since it comes with a lifetime warranty I wasn't aware of. I just got a brand new one of the broken one. So I have some hope for going to Attleboro and asking what my options are.
This store is only interested if you're a new customer, this guy didn't want to talk to me the instant i said "I want to upgrade" and gave me the wrong info from the getgo. *sighs* I like the reception I get on the cape and in my house, I don't want to change thanks to the strength of my signal. But I'm not above trying to force the issue.
I'm just not sure where the idea that "Hey you can just wait til July!" is a valid sales pitch *grins*

Date: 2004-01-14 07:22 pm (UTC)it cost me $25 or so less to pay their fee and switch to sprint. with a better phone.

Date: 2004-01-14 11:12 pm (UTC)Thing is, I want to keep with the Kyocera. And the only other company that offers it is Cell One, and well, just, no.
Anyway, I WILL have my new phone. I might have to go somewhere else (like radio shack!) but I'll have it, then I"ll go show that stupid guy. *grins*
