because I feel more icky by the second, but I'm waiting for my cold meds to kick in. They didn't have my usually meds because they have that ingredient that may cause strokes. *sigh* _I_ didn't have a stroke, why shouldn't I use it? (apparently it happens the first or second time you take it)

So, the weekend:

Friday - couldn't sleep til after 4 AM, woke up late. Went out to Saturn, had part replaced, picked up paycheck, cashed paycheck, went home to wait for Kazama. Found out the funeral procession will be passing my area, so we need to leave. Turns out he made it down the highway right before the blockade. Whoo hoo. SO we get going about 1:30. Have a stop or two, for snackage and drinks, and pee. Get into the city about 5:30, we ran into quite a bit of traffic. Find hotel. impress Kazama. He can't stop looking around as we check in, very continental. As he said "Tia, you done good." Actually I have to thank Deb for the suggestion, she and Nick stayed here, and it's a really good deal too. So I go to park the car, sending K up to the room with my stuff. The parking lot is about 3 blocks away, but are very nice and the hotel is giving us a reduced rate of $20 a day, which, again, is pretty cool. I am not impressed with the room, it has a large painting on it but it's very blah, not much in the way of decor. But that's what I'm paying for. The bathroom is private, clean, and well stocked, with a weird bathtub I was afraid of. You had to climb INTO it, like step UP. It was kewl tho. So we immediately regroup, and decide on dinner. I started reading in my Frommer's book about things in the area. We decided on a Japanese noodle house about 8 blocks away, and walk out. We actually FIND the place, and it was so worth it. K had a noodle broth, and I had beef sticks and noodles (which I should have thought better about, I needed more to eat and didn't get many noodles) and green teas ice cream for about $30 or $40 for the both of us. We continue to walk around, mostly towards St Mark's to drop in on Ed. It starts to rain and we stop to buy umbrellas, and me a toothbrush, because that was what I forgot. She wanted like 6 bucks, and I said no frickin way. Ok walk to Freaks, see Ed (*yay*) and find all the other stores closed. So we head back to the hotel, via a clothes store suggestion from one of Ed's stoner friends, which we never found, but K found me a great deal on a toothbrush travel kit. Ed also gave us some idea of an industrial night, so we decided to head back to the hotel. Did I mention the hotel has Internet kiosks? Good for K because he has some dumb NYU friends who can't figure out how to use a phone. So he figures they may e-mail him. We get back up to the room, to regroup, and K says "Uh, Tia where'd we get champagne?" I forgot that was part of our deal, along with brunch on the house. So we pop the bubbly, start drinking and go downstairs. We can't find any reference to the damn club, and by now are feeling the drive and the walk. Oh and for me, the alkyhol, cause I got trashed. I wouldn't leave the damn stuff alone. I decided I was hungry and badgered K into going out for a walk to find food. Lucky for me, there was a little 24 hour sandwich place, and the counter guy thought I was cute and silly, so I had grilled chicken and juice, which I poured the remainder of the champagne into. *giggle* After that I pretty much passed out *lol* such a lightweight. I did wake up a lot, being in an odd bed, and hearing odd noises (not you K) Plus the alkyhol wore off leaving me sickly and thirsty.

I'm going to continue this tomorrow. I came home with a stuffy head, probably from the rain the other night and the lack of rest all weekend. But, for the curious, I didn't get any, I didn't find anyone cute, and I missed Aimee, but she wants me to come back and she'll introduce me around. I at least talked to all my NYC friends (including Captain Charming) And hopefully will be seeing them again soon. I'd like to take Ed and his GF to dinner, and go out with Aimee.
I'll finish this later, promise.

and drinking that crap I have to soothe my throat. At least it works, and I used Green Earl Grey tea this time, so the icky taste is cut by the Earl Grey. I was thinking to continue the update while awake. *sneeze* 'scuze me....

Saturday - woke up about 11 ish or so. we missed brunch on Saturday by waking up late. Took a shower, and it wasn't as scary as I thought. The water pressure was scary, very strong, which was odd considering the toilet. Our goal for the day was shopping, shopping, shopping. I was again reading the Book, and found a mention of a little place called Old Japan on Bleeker street, so we decide to head that way. But I needed to EAT first. We wandered towards Bleeker, and stopped at a little greasy diner, which was exactly what I wanted. Finally full, we get to Bleeker, and walk up gawking in windows. We stopped in a jewelry store run by a cute Indian guy who was Mr. Sales Pressure. Luckily I don't have the money for anything, but I did want the small pair of dangly peridot earrings for work occasions. We walk on and find Old Japan, which is rather tiny. BUT we walk in and take one look at the rack of kimonos. I'll leave K to tell about his, but they are faboo! I, being she of little money, found a purple and grey one, that was pretty damaged, it has yellow stains, but you can only see them up close, and I won't be wearing it much, it's a bit tight if I close it. At $20 I think it'll look great hanging from my bed. Plus I got a neat pair of eating chopsticks (as opposed to hair chopsticks) and a cloth case for them. And a good luck frog, meant to return lost money. It says keep it in your change purse for luck if you lose you wallet. It's cute. *grin* We then walk back towards St Mark's, specifically towards Funhouse to make sure we get flyers for Saturday night. We browse, and get thirsty, so we go around the corner for water, and back to Funhouse to look upstairs at the bargain. The lady upstairs was Andrea, and she was really nice. She had a 5 month old with her, and I just kept thinking "wow, now that's a great job that'll let you bring your kid." She gave us several recommendations, and we talked a while about crappy roommates, and my friend Ed, who used to work there. We introduced ourselves, and she said "Are you the one with the tape of Ed from the Queen Latifa show, when he got a makeover?" I am, proudly, one in the same. I need to get him a copy, and K nicely offered to digitize the bit and put it up for downloads. I'll find the tape this week, and maybe we can work on it next week. She was so excited. I came out of there with a dress I'm not too sure about, and it was a bit expensive, but I didn't try it on with a corset, which will make it fit far better, at least in K's opinion. We venture back downstairs, where again, I'm deferring to K for his purchase, but we finally bought the pretties box I wanted last time for Dancer. It's a glass box with a lady and an angel and the lady looks like Dancer. It was a little too much for me, but K and I split it so she has it now. *grin* We continue to work out way down towards St Mark's, headed for Religious Sex. Let me just say that K is my hero. I've never been able to power shop like that and it was a pleasure to watch. Again, teasing you by deferring to K on his purchase. I found a neat bag with the Eyes of Budda on it for Ashley, adding it to the pile of stuff to send her, to make up for two broke years of non presents. I was looking for a pair of mules or something to change into, as my feets were a-hurting. But no go, so we headed back to the hotel via cab. I put on my other shoes and felt a billion times better.
I feel the need to nap, so I think I'll finish Saturday and Sunday later on.

Well since Kazama has decided to let poor sick ME be the bearer of all things update I'll try to write some more. Hey, I totally can't breathe now, so bite me, you.

Saturday Night - We decided to skip our respective museum visits, in favor of a lesuirely dinner and rest. K picked another placeout of Fromers, this time closer to the river. It was in a district of a bunch of warehouses, and looked like a diner, but the food was definatly NOT diner-esque. It was so neat! And the price matched, but it was worth it. I had wine, and Medallions of Filet and a chocolate mousse cake for dessert, but it was more like chocolate fudge pie *drool* K got a "put your own togther" special, and picked chcken, and a pecan pie for desert. After a bit of a walk, to settle things we grab a cab to the hotel. We rest, and I proceed to Dress for the Evening. I decide to risk the Boots of Doom. So I change tights, and put on the boots. Hrm, something is pinching me in the sole of my foot - HOLY crap it's a huge blister! One I didn't even know I have! I don't know how that happened. K was all comfy all day and I think I'm finally going to jump into a pair of the army surplus boots he has. Anyway, I continue to dress and get made up. K puts on a new outfit, that he had bought, again I'm letting HIM have the pleasure of telling, and I am wearing the new mesh coat I bought at Torrid We grab a cab, even though the Batcave is all of about 5 blocks, becuase I just don't want to risk walking in the boots. We're waved right in, and proceed upstairs where we both get drinks to celebrate FINALLY getting out at night. I got to dance to the Cruxshadows (Monsters) and London After Midnight.
BUT
The day wore me out. Plus the drinks, I stuck with Captain and Coke, were SO strong that I had two and quickly progressed beyond drunk, straight to sick. I was walking around, feeling very disconnected. I has sent K off by himself, as I wasn't in the mood to walk up and down stairs, and the lowest floor was much more to his liking music wise. He did check on me several times, and had pretty perfect timing. Whenever I needed to see him, he showed up. And there were no cutie honeys. At least, none with attached females. K saw some grrls to his liking, but neither of us were feeling it. It felt off, I guess. And I never saw Aimee. *sigh* We ended up leaving about 2 AM, and, I find out from Aimee, that she arrived just after we left. She wants me to come back, and I am welcome to stay with her, so I think I may have to.
We made it back to the hitel, bemoaned our fates, and fell asleep. We only got about 6 hours sleep, but we both wanted to get home early.
I wish I'd gotten more sleep, though, I think things are as bad as they are thanks to a depressed immune system. *sigh*
I'll finish up Sunday tomorrow. Honestly this was the best part.
OH and I'll write about my first message at a hotel, from Captain Charming Constantine! I was floating on air for over an hour, much to K's amusement.
Bed now, hopefully I'll make it to work tomorrow, but somehow I think I need another day off.
