So I'm home sick

and drinking that crap I have to soothe my throat. At least it works, and I used Green Earl Grey tea this time, so the icky taste is cut by the Earl Grey. I was thinking to continue the update while awake. *sneeze* 'scuze me....
Saturday - woke up about 11 ish or so. we missed brunch on Saturday by waking up late. Took a shower, and it wasn't as scary as I thought. The water pressure was scary, very strong, which was odd considering the toilet. Our goal for the day was shopping, shopping, shopping. I was again reading the Book, and found a mention of a little place called Old Japan on Bleeker street, so we decide to head that way. But I needed to EAT first. We wandered towards Bleeker, and stopped at a little greasy diner, which was exactly what I wanted. Finally full, we get to Bleeker, and walk up gawking in windows. We stopped in a jewelry store run by a cute Indian guy who was Mr. Sales Pressure. Luckily I don't have the money for anything, but I did want the small pair of dangly peridot earrings for work occasions. We walk on and find Old Japan, which is rather tiny. BUT we walk in and take one look at the rack of kimonos. I'll leave K to tell about his, but they are faboo! I, being she of little money, found a purple and grey one, that was pretty damaged, it has yellow stains, but you can only see them up close, and I won't be wearing it much, it's a bit tight if I close it. At $20 I think it'll look great hanging from my bed. Plus I got a neat pair of eating chopsticks (as opposed to hair chopsticks) and a cloth case for them. And a good luck frog, meant to return lost money. It says keep it in your change purse for luck if you lose you wallet. It's cute. *grin* We then walk back towards St Mark's, specifically towards Funhouse to make sure we get flyers for Saturday night. We browse, and get thirsty, so we go around the corner for water, and back to Funhouse to look upstairs at the bargain. The lady upstairs was Andrea, and she was really nice. She had a 5 month old with her, and I just kept thinking "wow, now that's a great job that'll let you bring your kid." She gave us several recommendations, and we talked a while about crappy roommates, and my friend Ed, who used to work there. We introduced ourselves, and she said "Are you the one with the tape of Ed from the Queen Latifa show, when he got a makeover?" I am, proudly, one in the same. I need to get him a copy, and K nicely offered to digitize the bit and put it up for downloads. I'll find the tape this week, and maybe we can work on it next week. She was so excited. I came out of there with a dress I'm not too sure about, and it was a bit expensive, but I didn't try it on with a corset, which will make it fit far better, at least in K's opinion. We venture back downstairs, where again, I'm deferring to K for his purchase, but we finally bought the pretties box I wanted last time for Dancer. It's a glass box with a lady and an angel and the lady looks like Dancer. It was a little too much for me, but K and I split it so she has it now. *grin* We continue to work out way down towards St Mark's, headed for Religious Sex. Let me just say that K is my hero. I've never been able to power shop like that and it was a pleasure to watch. Again, teasing you by deferring to K on his purchase. I found a neat bag with the Eyes of Budda on it for Ashley, adding it to the pile of stuff to send her, to make up for two broke years of non presents. I was looking for a pair of mules or something to change into, as my feets were a-hurting. But no go, so we headed back to the hotel via cab. I put on my other shoes and felt a billion times better.
I feel the need to nap, so I think I'll finish Saturday and Sunday later on.
