Thank you Ikea!

or rather, Ikea's As Is Section.
I ended up not at my client tonight, and decided to pop home looking for a check (which was there yay!) and then take the blow by Ikea to see what they had. Their cheapest chair was about what I wanted and to pay, less than Target. But I wasn't too happy with "just buy the cheap one" so I decided to have a look around. I did like a couple of the other chairs, of course the one I REALLY likes was $300. *sighs*
So I decided on the Stefano but was still feeling a pull towards the cheaper Svenning which s just like my old chair, mostly, except not being faux leather. I eyeballed a few others but just couldn't justify the prices. I thought MAYBE since I was willing to spend on the Stefano, I could go a bit higher if I saw something I liked. I thought the Moses might do. There was another one, between the cheap and next cheap whose name escapes me that is on the showroom floor but not online.
but THEN I got to the As Is section. The had a Stefano which looked beat. Looking at it, it had the same issues I was having with my other chair. There were two other bright red ones, also name escaping me, that were out of my range more than just a bit, and I didn't want red.
But THEN (heh *snerk* cal you tell I'm on my bedtime glass of wine?) I saw this silly lady in the corner. Her husband as sitting looking bored watching me sit in chairs, with great interest. (He was looking at my butt the asshat) She was pulling covers out of the random fabric bin, and looking for stuff, and while she was discarding things, she was using an OFFICE CHAIR to put the castoffs. As I watched she found what she wanted and started putting things back.
Under all this stuff was a Nominell it was marked as "missing packaging" and it was all put together. It's nice and firm, with height adjustment and back support. now it was a bit more than I'd allowed myself to spend, or had though of, but the cost of the chair retail compared to what they wanted? I WANTED IT. It also came with the arms, which I will probably take off, but are another $20, so I got it for HALF off.
I'm totally stoked. it's all put together, I just had to wheel it to the car, where it fit in the back, and wheel it in the house. I don't' feel like I'm going to fall out of it, and better yet I can SIT in it for a long time! (and while looking at the description to put up here, I figured out one last lever, that makes it even MORE comfortable!)
So yes, this is a post dedicated to my new chair, and Ikea. All Hail Ikea.
I decided to have wine because I went to bed rather quickly last night and must have SLEPT better, because I was awake at 7:30. I was still later for work, but not in a rush like I'd been. It's been great! But I'm wiped now. I just answered a few Ebay questions, and will be getting everything together and going to bed soon.
I meant to get online tonight. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow.
