Last night when I cam home I noticed this new vase, and plant.
This is an odd thing.
To be honest, these things pop up when my sister guilts her boyfriend for something, so a vase of roses appear, nice vase, then they SIT THERE moldering, until even the bugs bypass them. This one is different.
So it's a live plant, in a vase, and the bottom is lined with glass baubles, and I can see the roots of the plant. I thought that THAT was something very odd, but perhaps it's some new zen thing, watch the roots grow. *grin*
So when I get home tonight my mother says "Did you see what Nana gave me for my birthday?" And I say What? She points and I say, Oh the plant? What about it, Nana's weird. She says "Did you really look at it?" I say yeah it has booglies in it and HEY THERE'S A FISHY IN IT!!!!!!!!!
It's this.
My grandmother has been making craft stuff A LOT since she retired, and I guess this is the latest project. The fish is a Beta Male, and this one has enormous blue fins, it's SO pretty. And all I could think of was "I WANT A PURPLE ONE!!!!!"
And I may have to make this happen.
Apparently, this fish feeds from the roots of the plant, although you do have to augment his diet (and it is a he, they have bigger fins), and change his water like 25% every week or so, but that's so neat. Huh, I just read that betas are meat eaters, i'd better warn my mom that it will NOT probably be eating from the roots.
So, does anyone know if Betas come in Purple? Til I have time to pop off to PetSmart or something? I so shouldn't do this half cocked but I was in an "eh" mood from work and this made my night.
And I'll name him Spike. My purple beta fishy.
Sheesh, I sound like Kelley Anne. *grin*
OK me go to bed soon, I'm way too bouncy.

But when someone effectively slams a door in my face, I tend to get a little pissy.
