Remind me to ONLY CALL my friends at *evil Cable Empire* when I need assistance.
I JUST wanted to know if there was an outage. I didn't need to walk through cycling the power on my stuff AGAIN, and then get a phone number for my OBVIOUSLY defective router.

Oh, and by the way, shutting off the modem (the very very OLD modem that obviously is the source of all my outages lately) unplugging it, hitting Reset for a count of 10, and POOF I have Internet. DO I think I did something with that kind of reboot, maybe. DO I think that Maybe Idiot Customer Service Unit #842 finally PUSHED the right button to get me access, because telling me it had to be my hardware was easier? More likely probably.

Now I'm pissed off and have some more work to do. *grumblepants*

I'm SO looking forward to the upgrade fucking phone calls I have to make. Must chat up reps first so I KNOW what to say. I'm about ready to kick puppies.

They always tell you the old modems are bad if the modem came from the company. It's because they want them back due to people being able to overclock them.
