Yes I'm doing this instead of working. I NEED it for work and I had an 8AM meeting today that consisted of discussions around Lost and Smallville.

Look thou not upon the price, for I shalt not be paying that price.
But this one has everything I think I want, with the items I'm very "Duh." about maxed out. Like processor speed. This IS in the range I was figuring to spend. No I do not have that money YET. That is a tax season, end of, kind of expenditure. Me good girl, save up for shiney toy.

AND - I am one of those dorks who would pay extra for the Black paint job. YOU know who you are. *cough*MacGeeks*cough*

Opinions gladly accepted, suggestions cheerfully recieved. Character assassinations or Mac suggestions ques up over there, by the obliette.

Looks good to me... Only thing that caught my eye was that it's MAX memory is 2G, so you couldn't upgrade it later if you wanted to...

Most of the laptops I'm looking at now max out at 2G. I SWEAR I can't POSSIBLY need more than that anytime soon. Famous last words, but think that I'm still running two 486's. Yes, I went there.

The price I could get it for, if I had the cash/credit right now, is around $2400, but that's plus shipping and tax. I WAS hoping to wait it out til tax free weekend, but that won't happen.

Might take a cruise to the outlet in Wrentham, see what they have comparable. I wouldn't mind having to buy and install another RAM chip (or renting a geek to do it) if I saved some cheddar.

That was my concern as well, but if you don't mind sticking with the 2G, I say go for it, if you can get it a little cheaper than that price plus tax.

And I'd never suggest a mac to you. Getting the software that you use would be too much of a bitch, when you already have copies of it for the PC.

Well I'd have to go with 1Gig, then upgrade. The one at PCCOnnection comes with 2Gig at that price.

The thing with Mac Geeks, is that they ALL have Macs. Going across platforms with my Mac lack of knowledge, AND all my clients running ANCIENT systems, makes me vomit a little into my mouth. But all the Geekz0rs are all "SHINEY! NEW! MAC! CULT! ONE OF US!" that you can't get across to them it would be all fine and dandy, if I didn't have to COMMUNICATE with the outside world, who don't drink the KoolAid.

BELIEVE ME - at this point I'd KILL to be able to just GO to the Mac store, point and say "That, in black, please" instead of this round and round.

I really think this one is the winner, maxed out to the extreme. Now I have to do some financial wrangling, since I don't do SAVING well, but am also trying to remember all the stuff I want to do, some shit I have to handle that will need cash thrown at it, and making sure I'm not effing broke after the Season. I'm already using the extra CPA #2 is paying me to pay off Vegas debts, instead of being AHEAD of the game. *sighs*

I have a form to turn in for my tribe and then I will paypal you money when the check comes in. All hell broke loose with the Car of Doom and I had to get hundreds and hundreds of dollars of work done on it. Mer.

I am going to Pittsburgh this weekend on co-workers. They gave me a prezzie that allowed me to buy airfare and a hotel and should cover my meals.

I've been lowering my bills in any way I can. I'm cancelling everything I don't need and lowering the rest down as far as possible. So far it seems to be working well.

DON'T worry about it - it's savings for spending money for Leipzig. I've forgotten all about it, on purpose. Whenever you can afford it, IF EVER, is FINE. I wouldn't have given it to you if it hurt. It's not going to change my laptop situation right now in the least.

I'll be in DC next week, if you end up driving down that way. Only Wednesday & Thursday night, I'm flying out around 7ish on Friday, to work on Saturday. JOY! *gags*
