Or rather, fluffy. Or Rather, Fluffy.
I haven't posted in ages, and I'm posting fluff. Sue me. I've been in a mood.

Monday I followed a link to a fanfic written about Number One Anime Boyfriend, Sesshomaru-sama.
it had won awards and was well written.

Except the character in the story - wasn't Sesshomaru. I have no idea who it was, it wasn't him.
I wasn't about to critque the author, it's fiction for a reason, and it was well written, for an obviously younger author.

I'm just horrified she missed the mark on his psyche.

You watch enough and do reasearch enough, and Wikipedia was great for this, and you get a firm look into his processes. He's cold and haughty, pure royal demon. He doesn't have a hatred for the human race - they're no better than ants, annoyances at best. His half brother is a source of contempt, and annoyance, at how stupid his father was.

The movie gives serious insight, how he questions his father's (and Inuyasha's) motives. Both of them find their greatest power in standing between evil and something/one weaker. InuYasha has ALWAYS handed Sesshomaru his ass when he threatened Kagome.

The movie played on AS last Saturday. The last two nights have been the 2 part special "The Woman who Loved Sesshomaru" and I have ISSUES with the story!

The fanfic filled Sesshomaru with, well, FEELINGS. Rage, hatred, resentment, sorrow, anger. He feels NONE of these things! He never went to observe InuYasha as a child and feel anger or sorrow for his father! He MIGHT have gone to see just how bad the half breed was. He's BENEATH Sesshomaru, and therefore doesn't matter. The ONLY thing S wanted from InuYasha was the Tessaiga.

NOW, after the manga and the anime storylines - yes I believe he actually HAS feelings. he's tied to his vassals and it sounds serious. But the whole POINT is to watch his progression, from cold demon to something MORE like Inu no Taisho (Or, InuPapa as he's called, Sesshomaru and InuYasha's father) That was the whole point - power for power's sake is EMPTY, and to attain TRUE power, you have to have something more.

Ok done geekering. I should get some work done and make some phone calls about being sociable.

PS - Johnny Depp as Sweeny Todd - BAD BAD BAD! I have a few things I like that you people won't believe, some Broadway Musicals are some of them. Sweeny Todd is amazing, when seen correctly, with the correct people and as a Musical., Angela Lansbury, NUFF SAID. I need to pick that up and add it to my growing "Tia has WHAT?" Collection, next to The Quiet Man (John Wayne) and Kiss Me Kate.
