Well, it's gone.
Aug. 7th, 2006 03:15 pmI went home a tad early for lunch, and ended up taking a long lunch so I'll have to stay late (I have stuff to do anyway) I waited in two phone queues, one for Customer Service whom I needed to go through to get to Tech Services, and didn't even have to attempt to boot the thing at all. I told the tech what I did, and what the Sony site recommended, and he said "well that's all I have to do, sounds like a bigger issue, I'll send you a return label."
It's gone back, not to be fixed and returned. Seems that the only brand they don't service is Sony, so it will go back to the factory. And it just makes no sense, since it MIGHT not come back at all. So they're also initiating a refund.
I'm bummed by this. But as I said before, I'm taking it as an indication, a fix if you will, of a situation. This weekend coming up is Tax Free Shopping weekend, and all the stores tend to have sales. The laptop wasn't as good of a deal as I'd hoped, and there's one at Microcenter that is almost as sharp in the teeth. I'm also going to take a ride out to the Sony Outlet in Wrentham and eyeball their stock, in typical Leo fashion, that will be happening tonight. Hell, I'd BUY it tonight but am forced to wait for the refund.
Also - I'm going to point out the obvious - the Bday is Thursday. Frankly, it's going to pass in quiet fashion. I have a meeting that morning, I don't really have the luxury of a day off, and frankly, I do for myself just fine, I don't need bells and whistles. although a tiara will be nice.
You can think of me, maybe send me an email or a shout out on LJ and I'll be more than pleased. If you feel the need to send me a gifty, I have an abundance of things I'd like on Amazon, so an Egift certificate works great. I MIGHT have stuff up on a wishlist, maybe I'll update that. I have everything I could possibly need (except a laptop, you MAY buy me one of those *LOL*) so a donation to charity would be great too. I particularly like doggies and horsies. *grins*
That sounds silly but I'm leaving it up. I know theres some who really feel my day shouldn't pass without a marker, and this helps them out. I'm IMPOSSIBLE to buy for. *evil grin* Even Teh Unit isn't bothering, she's got more things on her mind. WHich is fine. My sister called and asked about dinner, to which I replied "SWEET BABY JEEBUS NO WAI!" but I thought it might be nice to give Teh Nephew some money and let him take me out for ice cream. We can go to Brighams like my grandfather used to with me, and he can pay. But there's no way in hell I'm doing dinner with those people - it's my effing birthday, I ain't putting myself through that (YOU have dinner with them then tell me I'm wrong! *shudder*)
Meh, I should be working, I've been in such a bad mood all day, and it's ONLY being corrected with the late application of iced hazelnut. I have to start making coffee again in the morning.
