All praise

Tomorrow's hell on earth, AKA the 8AM biweekly staff meeting has been postponed.
WHICH MEANS
I don't have to watch the clock obsessively to get to bed at a reasonable time,
nor do I have to jaunt to the store AFTER my evening client to get food for the meeting, as my turn to furnish was tomorrow
AND I get to watch the replay of project Runway, thanks to the non-having to get to bed early.
Now, all I have to do is get them to be sure it'll be next Thursday THEN take the day off in advance of Black Sun, and I'll weasel out of it for another few weeks.
Wheeeee!
You wouldn't believe the intense RELIEF I feel. I'm very stressed about getting up on time in the morning - make that two hours EARLIER, and I just get all freaked out.

Date: 2006-07-19 08:42 pm (UTC)Office Manager, I'm sure, thought at some point it was "unfair" that one employee (namely her) had to bring in the breakfast for the meeting. It's pretty early, and usually what we get isn't something you can get the night before (coffee for one)
So, the meeting schedule rotates.
And while I DO have to pony up out of pocket, I am reimbursed via check by the company. I'm certain if it was a hardship, I'd be given a stipend to use, provided I brought it up. Frankly, getting coffee donuts and bagels isn't that big a deal, even I can find the $20 or $30 for it. And I get it back, anyway.
So the simple answer is - We don't - the company ends up paying.
