Voltaire tomorrow night in Providence.
And I think I'm staying home.
I HATE HATE HATE that hole in the wall venue. I hated it when I FIRST saw him there years ago. I hated it when I went to see
blackcelebrator spin, and I've hated it with the other Voltaire shows. If I want hole in the wall, I can stay here.
And honestly, I'm finding myself having fan issues. The overexuberance of the fans kills my good time. I've noticed it more and more lately, and I find myself just wanting to STAY HOME and not deal with it. It's not just him, it's last Friday at the Cruxshadows (oh I'm DYING to find out who the chicks to my right were, the BanStick is waiting for them. Maybe you shouldn't push people around then announce how you're going to LJ about it. Imagine being so RUDE and thinking I want my name associated with you! maybe they shouldn;t have pushed around the mod. *evil grin*) I noticed it at Duran Duran too.
Maybe I'm just old, but I'm TIRED of the nonsense. Of the "my fandom is greater than yours" it's KILLING me seeing it. New blood, new life is one thing, these people who ruin the experience for the rest of us I can do without.
I'd go down with one other person, maybe. To enjoy the show with then leave. *shrugs* I guess I'll ask around, but not too hard since I really shouldn't go with this attitude.
Food for thought.
I should work on my Pictures from Friday tonight.

Date: 2005-09-26 09:30 pm (UTC)The attitude of the artist, IMHO, is a cycle, brought on by the attitude i'm talking about. I've noticed it with the Cruxshadows as well. i don't claim to KNOW any of these people, and I try and be respectful, but the attitude gets to me too.
I just love his shows, he CAN be such a showman. He's entertaining, and I do love his music. But without the right atmosphere it's not good.
Heh. Don't mistake me for a goody-goody though. You KNOW I love the drama, and I'm of the opinion that the "scene" is better off without some people, even IF they are some of the hard workers for change. That's not MY kind of idea of a good time, and I won't spend my money there. And I shouldn't feel I have to. End of discussion.
it's the venue and the crowd that has me not feeling like going, but if I had company I might think about it. Chances are I won't be *lol* I'd rather be home with my Anime Husbands instead. *grins*

Date: 2005-09-27 12:04 am (UTC)Leipzig (or WGT, if you're looking around) is June 2-5. I already have a junior suite booked, which supposedly has room for 4. remember my room at your wedding? something like that. I have to inquire about the pull out couch tho, I just don't believe it. There IS room for all of us tho.
The plan is I'll be there Thursday the 1st to have dinner with the Americans. Then things start in full force on Friday. We leave on Tuesday, since things go into the night at the end of the fest.
I'll be sending you an email with all the details at some point, but I figure it's kinda silly until we know if you'll be able to go, and for how long, to make serious plans. Also, it's looking like I'll be in England before the fest, not after, but that's WAY up in the air. I doubt I'll be visiting you in Italy, I can save that for later in the year maybe.
You want to look up WGT, and also the website AmericansInLeipzig.com. These are awesome people!
We WON'T have the same problems in Germany. It's the effing Americans.

Date: 2005-09-27 08:48 am (UTC)I'm sure the morons are a waste of my talents, but you know I get off on scaring people (I guess I'm too militant for the New England crowd).
I can't wait! Germans, live Industrial music, beer. Ha!
Sounds like a plan.

Date: 2005-09-30 01:53 pm (UTC)The Americans in Leipzig list hosts a dinner for all the Americans the Thursday night. In the best bratwurst house in the city, according to them. *drools*
I have a feeling I'm going to lose 10 pounds in London, then GAIN it all back in Leipzig. *evil grin*
