Aug. 19th, 2005 02:41 pmI think I found where all the nice Goths are.
And actually, a lot of them were at Black Sun (nice, not from the list)
The Americans in Leipzig Yahoo Group.
After reading about yesterday, and seeing some advice about booking rooms, I joined the list. I REALLY DO NEED to start planning now. As in I'd like to book a room by Monday, and need to email/chat with the appropriate people. I need to start setting up budgets and planning for the occasions. I need to know what I'm doing and when, and SOON, so that when items come up I have them planned for.
(I have a debt to repay first, before I do anything but book the room. I can always cancel the room.)
(Also, I have a Ranger to contend with. I will have to wait until we're TOTALLY sure you'll be around,
le2pold before I'll book a flight to visit. I'm planning on have room available if I can't visit, but you can come and meet us. I'd RATHER come see you first, before the onslaught, but I have to be reasonable. Make sure you keep that in your plans, I'll email you some details.)
I'm stinkingly excited about this. I'm very pleased at how NICE everyone is! It makes it easier to relax, and to enjoy this. It also makes me question some of the nonsense around Boston. Since my first trip to London I've been less interested in gothing HERE, and more interested in seeing different clubs. I still want to see the Castle in FL (despite some baggage that's there, or may be there, and NO it's not YOU if you think it is. Der.) I'm ashamed I missed my chances in Atlanta.
Anyway, before I go anywhere tonight I'm running to Border's to see what I can get for travel books. I SHOULD order them on Amazon, but then there's no Instant Gratification *snickers*
Emails and phone calls to follow this weekend, fer shure!

Date: 2005-08-19 07:21 pm (UTC)It could go one of three ways:
- I'm already IN London and you and I can go together. I'll probably have to head home from there, but I MIGHT be doing that from London, that's SO up in the air
- I meet L in Italy and come to Leipzig with him/them
- I go straight through to Leipzig and meet you all there.
I want to work out the particular issues and prices concerning all legs of each potential trip and see which one appeals to me.
Where're you going? On a date with Mr.

Date: 2005-08-19 07:23 pm (UTC)I actually have NO desire to see Fl, but I'm open to the opinion I might end UP there (potentially for business, it's been brought up)
I'm probably not going to Convergence in favor of Leipzig and Black Sun, but Ive always wanted to see New Orleans, just not with a passel of gothlings. *meeps!*

Date: 2005-08-21 07:24 pm (UTC)Incidentally, the Chamber in Atlanta closed a while ago. There's a private place known as Convent, but the last I knew, it was invite only. Pretty nice if you can get in though.

Date: 2005-08-21 07:31 pm (UTC)J went to visit on the last VNV NAtion tour, and I wanted to go with him and couldn't afford it.
Once I make a decision about itineraries, I'll be emailing both of you. I'm talking with the British boy about getting a room, and I need to talk to J about it. I'll let you know what sounds good, but I have to research the logisitics. Considering I want to be in place in Leipzig by Thursday it might not be quite what I orgingally planned for.
I'm SO stupid excited, and I SO want you to be there! I can't imagine Germany without you.
When do you cycle back to Italy?
If you get a chance, check out the AmericansinLeipzig.com website, pretty damn informative.

Date: 2005-08-21 09:23 pm (UTC)I was sitting reading LJ, doin' nothin'.
Although now I'm trying to get some work done.
I figure I wouldn't know anything about any troop movements, and have several scenarios that involve different entry points. Once we're sure what the what is, then I buy flights and stuff.
I just have to facilitate a hotel room NOW, since I know _I'M_ going, due to a number of events happening in Leipzig next year.
If I haven't said it before, I simply CAN'T go to Germany without you!
