I feel I'm getting ahead.
And I need to, to be able to afford things. Oddly enough, suddenly faced with the ACTUAL REALITY of getting what I want living situation wise, the ability to buy the DVDs I want, and the other nonsense, is taking a backseat to actual furniture, and being able to cook, and having rooms in colors I like and having a home office, and being able to entertain in MY living room with MY stuff is very, very WAY more appealing. of course, this is assuming all I have to do is budget for a DVD. If I ACTUALLY start falling behind, like I did last time, that could SUCK and BLOW.
It didn't help that I went to look at the Chevalier website after that conversation. I first heard this name from He What Wears The Coat And Shall Not Be Named. It sounds expensive. And it has, unfortunately, what I consider the PERFECT sofa. it's a sectional, in the big foofy cushy style I like, with a recliner at one end and a CHAISE at the other. I'm wondering if I can get TWO chaises. Anyway, there weren't any prices on the website, but I can run out and look, and drag Chris and Letty with me. After the Season. THIS would be worth every penny and every thing I give up to be able to afford it. It was THAT nice.
I got an unexpected night off thanks to the ice storm. Yes people, it was THAT bad, if I couldn't go out in it. I have to say is for Saturn - they're honest. The saleswoman said, point blank "The windshield wipers SUCK" and lo they do indeed. There's a trip to one of the Auto Zones of the world in my future, so I can replace them with actual WORKING wiper blades. I can't wait to see how the ice damages them (/sarcasm)
So I turned around and came home. I did some work and it simply wasn't as much as I thought. We just didn't have the backup. I can submit what we have next week. I already did the cost basis project. Now I have to work on MY stuff, and I have to find the time to do that. Spent the night watching G Gundam, and Sex in the City. I'm going to watch the rest of this disk before going to bed.
One CRAPPy thing - we don't have water. While I was out at a client we lost power, and it did something to our pump down in the laundry room. I REALLY hope they have to tear it all apart. Stupids. Making it so you COULDN'T get at the sump pump if necessary. Asshats. And the downstairs neighbor decided that it was a SWELL idea to call the FIRE DEPARTMENT instead of the management company. *sighs* and she was PROUD of it. I think we should make THEM pay the fine for having the fire dpt out here on a false alarm. Anyway, there's been no water since and I'm sure it's related. That means SUDDENLY teh unit needs to pee every five seconds, and OBVIOUSLY have a phobia about other peoples pee. It's driving me CRAZY to go in there (it's worse than that but, ew, oversharing light is ON baby!) If it's not on in the morning she's going to freak - she NEEDS a shower in the morning. I might be OK - my hair does better if it's NOT washed daily, and I have baby wipes. *evil grin* Maybe I'll stop at the boss' and take a shower in HER house. *LOL*
Anyway, must take contacts out and get to G Gundam. At least _I_ have water in my coffee maker for the morning. I'm amused she doesn't. I'm going to need to stop for breakfast, I'll be needing a juice and something foodage. I'm hoping to NOT touch this thing tomorrow morning. Baby steps.
