I made this 80's mix CD for my car, and as usual, upon listening, I find I can improve it. One is a better version of Tarzan Boy, the one I put on there from a comp is CRAP (Has all the added animal sounds, it's wrong.) I do have another version now, but I realize there's something else missing. And I'm having a hard time getting it.
Anyone have handy "Don't Pay the Ferryman" by Chris DeBurgh? I could have SWORN I have it on a comp but I can't find it. Some form of compensation will be offered, obviously.
My mix is disturbing, I picked what I would call my favorite moody new wave stuff. And I find it is:
- mostly white male artists (with the exception of Nena)
- Mostly British or German artists
- heavy on either Synth or Bass or Both (think Roxy Music)
- VERY little of it I would call mainstream or having a huge impact (while I love Duran, it's not on this mix. The only thing I'd say fits is Save a Prayer, and I think pretty much everything is OLDER than that, I'd have to look it up.)
One I get these two things on, and consider removing The Riddle, by Nik Kershaw, it might just be perfect. The Riddle is not one I "used to" listen to but I'm liking it. However, if it's a choice between that and Don't Pay the Ferryman, well there's no choice. I might burn myself a copy of The Riddle album, along with The Lexicon of Love by ABC at some point. I DO have a lot of driving to do in the next few days.
I was awake early today, but now I've had coffee and need to shower and have breakfast. Maybe another cup of coffee. Then off to my client early so I can come back and work on a project I've been trying to get to for 2 weeks, then find out how early I can go to my evening client. Watched a very key episode of G Gundam last night, and I understand a hella lot more now. Even tho it IS one of the worst Gundams (and I'm sorry, SD Gundam is the ABSOLUTE worst I refuse to accept that crown for this series) it has the plot confusions and twists that I've gotten used to just from trying to watch the other series and being addicted to Gundam Seed.
Simple pleasures, really.
Must be off. Someone send me my song!

Date: 2005-03-08 03:36 pm (UTC)You know what horrified me was Tarzan Boy. I had NO IDEA I had such a bastardized version. OH - and do you know how hard it was to find the GERMAN version of Der Komissar? I've done tons of Falco searches and found it exactly ONCE (which was enough. MINE! hee hee!)
Gah - kids these days!
I never got to listening to whole albums - I lived off of radio as a kid. I'm glad to find the small pleasures of listening to them now.
