Well I think I'm depressed now.

I was writing about the Cruxshadows last night, from the show on Wednesday.
Then my computer crashed.
Then I read my email this morning.
And email from Lou's mom. Saying how they don't know where Lou is, his mission is classified, so they haven't been told anything. Understandable. That he can receive letters and small packages, and here's how to mail him a letter.
It's more security than Fort friggin Knox.
*buries head in hands*
I'd had myself convinced he wasn't in Afghanistan.
Or, at least, not in any REAL danger.
Chances are he's sitting on his ass somewhere, ready to move, just not somewhere I'd call.....friendly.
Poor thing. Probably no CD player, very little in the way of books, probably also not able to hang with his other Ranger buddy Marcus, who is in his battalion, but not his unit. There are a couple of other guys he hangs with too, again, not in his unit. That has GOT to suck.
And I doubt we'll ever know where he went, he'll come home and say "Can't talk about it."
Well the Cruxshadows and Bella Morte are tonight in New Haven, CT, with Katie. This should be fun, actually be able to talk to the band, mostly Bella Morte, although I want to show Chris the "mean" picture I took of him at DragonCon, and MAYBE pick up Echoes and Artifacts, not that I don't already have Intercontinental Drift *grin* I didn't really want to bug the bands last night, I don't like playing the groupie, especially with how giddy I get over Rogue *evil grin*
There's a picture I need to take for Daddy. *EVIL grin*
Fear me, for I am clever and evil.

Date: 2001-11-09 08:20 am (UTC)BTW, can I borrow your older Cruxshadows CDs for 10 minutes or so the next time you come over?
*GASP*
Date: 2001-11-09 08:25 am (UTC)Permit copies of MY Cd's!?!?
Horrors!
besides, they only played "Marilyn..." and "Monsters" from Telemetry of a Fallen Angel.
The very first song is new, that is coming out in December,
Most of the set is on Mystery of the Whisper, or various collections.
(the answer is "sure" anyway, although I wish I had the $$ to buy them for you tonight *pout*)
Re: *GASP*
Date: 2001-11-09 08:28 am (UTC)Vegas Baby, Vegas. :)
Re: *GASP*
Date: 2001-11-09 08:33 am (UTC)Vegas, Vegas bad.
I might be able to get them if I can meet up with you before Sunday for reimbursement.
OR I can get them Sunday, after meeting you for money.
I HATE being po'.
You want Intercontinental Drift/Echoes and Artifacts (same disc, different titles) for that version of Monsters, MUCH more like the live version.
My 2nd favorite, behind Heaven's Gaze (the one everyone danced to), is JackalHead, from Telemetry. *silly grin* It's about Anubis. At least it TALKS to ME about Anubis.
No Vegas. I checked flights, they're expensive. So we want to time it for Cheap flight, Cheap hotel. *drool * Luxor.......
Re: *GASP*
Date: 2001-11-09 08:36 am (UTC)I have a soft spot for Sympathy (for tomorrow) and Aten-Ra for some reason.
Ohh boy
Date: 2001-11-09 08:42 am (UTC)But for the want of a G-string (on the VIOLIN *smack*)
You would have had Sympathy (for tomorrow), that's their usual second encore.
Which I think puts a whole downswing on the night, unfortunately. I like it when they end with Monsters. Maybe if they played Sympathy THEN Monsters.....
Re: Ohh boy
Date: 2001-11-09 09:07 am (UTC)I was a bit surprised they don't have a backup violin. You would think they would plan for things like that. Anyways, I enjoyed 'Here Comes the Rain Again'. Makes it a bit special for us.
Re: Ohh boy
Date: 2001-11-09 11:08 am (UTC)I don't think violin strings break THAT easily. Although it is surprising that they wouldn't have some extra strings.
It's wierd, all the time's I've seen them this year this is the first time I remember:
1) Rogue's voice being hoarse
2) The violin strings breaking
and
3) the first technical problems since Danse Macabre, when they couldn't play Jackalhead.
Weird.
I think it's Boston. *shiver*
