I've been not feeling like posting. I WANT to, in sprit, but I haven't been able to find the time and coordinating brain cells to do so. I will be making time tonight. At work. Sue me.
But, for right now, State of the Face.
*long drawn out sigh*
Around Thursday/Friday I realized my neck was itchy. it had started to redden, and my mouth was dry and the sides of my mouth started itching. Saturday morning my eyes were red and itchy. I put on the goop I have, and went off to a client (yep, 5 hours on Saturday, then moving M and his stuff, and my stuff around. I HAVE been busy) It seems to be under control, but yesterday my face was bright red and vaguely itchy and my neck itchy. I put on more goop, and, since I was seeing CB and being VERY vain, foundation, which covered everything nicely and helped with the itching.
Now, I haven't dyed my hair this week. So this time it's not the cause. I HAVE been cleaning, I pulled some things out of my closet on Sunday, and been going through boxes. Saturday night we moved things in my storage unit #2 (Which I got the letter about - they moved me to another unit, they're putting in an elevator. Chances are I'm wasting my money, I'll never use the second unit as I intended. I'm hoping Teh Unit moves out and I will be able to reclaim all my books by moving the bookcases into the living room.) AND we pulled six boxes full of "junk" for me to go through which happened Saturday night and Sunday, with two still left in my trunk. (one full of books) I've been immersed in dusty, dirty junk. MAN am I ever a packrat! I'm glad that's changed.
So, I'm thinking this MIGHT be from dust, and dirt. An allergy of sorts. one of the boys, M or CB, suggested that IF it's an allergy, maybe Benedril might help. So, after CB left last night I went to CVS, and lo and behold if the pills didn't at LEAST take most of the itching away, and alleviate some of the redness. It ALSO might have contributed to me passing at out 12:30. BUT it also might have contributed to me waking up at 2:30 in LOTS of itchy pain. I washed all the goo off my face and neck, and right now, since I haven't showered yet, my neck feels like a ring of fire, where my ankh would hang. I need to apply goo, and have taken another pill on the 6 hour mark, and my face is fine. My neck and arm is not, but I know putting on creams will work.
I'm VERY confused about this, I can't seem to find a trigger. Teh Unit keeps asking me about my makeup, since it "obviously" has to be either cheap makeup or me sharing my makeup with someone. *rolls eyes* I swear, sometimes she treats me like I have NO IDEA. Any wonder why I want out? Perhaps it COULD be the powder - for Lou's wedding I switched to a different powder, as the white has been harder to come by. I've been using it every since. It DOES coincide with the timing, but I don't break out EVERYTIME I use it. I did use it twice this week. I don't usually wear makeup (usually my skin is flawless, I don't really feel I need makeup, unless I'm going out.) but I went out Tuesday and Wednesday. I didn't use baby wipes to remove the makeup, and still I broke out, starting Friday. (Thankfully it's not the baby wipes!)
So maybe I'll get a new powder. Something from Cover girl, hypoallergenic. Meanwhile I'll pop the pills when I get itchy, and keep myself from scratching. It's not as bad this time, I seem to have a handle on not letting my eyes get very bad.
OK, I need to shower and get to my client. More later I hope.

Date: 2004-11-22 09:20 am (UTC)You said you're breaking out around your neck--by chance, have you maybe gotten a new necklace? I know I can't wear certain metals around my neck, though for me they turn my neck dark. Odd, but true. Or conversely, possibly a new detergent?
You sound miserable...hope things improve.

Date: 2004-11-22 09:54 am (UTC)I've also started using a new detergent, but this one is actually better than my old (the stuff they have at Target, instead of what's cheapest at Walgreens *grins*) and this condition had been going on longer than my detergent change.
It HAS to be something I'm coming into contact with. I'm going to change powders, and see if that helps. I'm also fearing that this is something that might be connected to my period now, like some women break out when the ovulate. I will be VERY UPSET if this is so.
I hate not having the answers. or the cause.

Date: 2004-11-22 09:59 am (UTC)Benadryl is something I carry with me all the time...along with an Epi-Pen. Benadryl has saved my ass more than once.

Date: 2004-11-22 10:03 am (UTC)I'm not ALWAYS miserable. This just cropped up - I'd had at least 2 weeks of no issues, and clear and smooth face. *sighs*

Date: 2004-11-22 10:01 am (UTC)2- actually I did that. I got a new sheet set on Friday, so these are brand new (I was thinking it might be my detergent, so I DIDN'T wash these first.) Also, I'd washed and changed my sheets on Sunday last, after I got my new comforter.
2a- I also have new pillows. Brand new ones on Saturday for my new shams, and ones that are about 2 months old in my regular pillowcases. These are hypoallergenic, and poly filled, no feathers.
3- I use cover girl continuous wear foundation, un scented and definately hypoallergenic. Non of the rest of my makeup seems to be causing the problem, but I'm using Cover Girls and MACs mostly. The powder is the only thing I question, and I'm going to buy something light and cover girl and try that.
4- I don't know if I got the non drowsy or not. I know I was tired already when I took the pill. I moved and sorted a lot of crap, and had been yawning through the movie CB and I watched. I just HATED waking up at 2:30 for 2 hours, basically undoing any good I'd done from going to bed "early"
I'm going to start switching items, see if anything changes. One at a time. Starting with powder.
