Y0 kiddies,

I just got a VERY GOOD looking spoof email from PayPal.
As in if I hadn't seen a couple of things on LJ recently, it might have fooled me.
PayPal does address these emails, explaining how to tell if it's spoofed, and mine is
(big point - Addressed to "Paypal member" and NOT by my full name.)

So if you get one of these, login to PayPal via a new browser window, and just check it out, before you start clicking away on links. I forwarded mine to PayPal, and will be deleting it shortly.

Do I need to say again - DON'T click on any links IN the email?

Anyway - just a heads up.
I'm going to bed - I'll probably be updating, or killing Wesley in the morning.

EDIT - I got a quick response, probably automated, saying that yes indeedy this is a spoof, don't click on any of the links, don't enter any info, but if you were dumb and did yada yada yada.
Anyone interested in seeing it, let me know, not that you are.

one of the best things about using my good old unix-command-line-old-fashioned-pine is that one can't click links. the url needs to be copy-pasted into a browser.

that extra layer makes it really hard to bite on one of those emails.

This one's amazingly good. It took me a while to find the bogus http reference.
