Now I'm all wet
Mar. 6th, 2001 10:38 pmAnd not in a good way.
I did a half assed job of digging out the car, but I can pull out and isn't that all that matters? We have a company that plows (I live in a condo building) and all I have to do is get out of the way and let them do their job. So all I really needed to do is clear off the car and dig out a place to pull out of. Of course, this is contingent on the guy next to me using this car parked next to me tomorrow (He has 3. He usually doesn't take the truck, parked next to me, anywhere. I'm not sure how he seems to think 3 cars are OK when you live in a 200 unit condo building, but then I'm told I can't complain because OUR unit has 3 cars. (Let's not mention the fact that my unit has THREE drivers, as opposed to his one, and my mom and sister don't park in the parking lot, they risk tickets on the street because they DON'T think it's fair we use more than our allotted space. They usually leave me the space becuase I'm out the latest. If I'm in early I find somewhere else so my mom can park in the allotted space. But I'm sure I'll be told I have no right to complain, regardless. *Nyah* I don't really care. I just wish that this S.O.B would move his truck, just for a couple of hours, so the plow can get rid of the sow around our spaces, which he won't.))
I used to watch people digging out cars and think "That has to suck, I'm so glad _I_ don't have to do that. Actually that was a con against getting a car, digging it out of snowdrifts. Ahhhh to have covered parking. I think I may make that a requirement when I move, a nice building with either underground or garage parking. I can be picky now, I haven't tried to move yet *grin*
I did barely anything today. I should have gotten a bunch of work done, but I just didn't feel like it. I think that's an indication that I don't work very well on my own. A BAD sign for someone wanting to have her own practice. But I think the solution is atmosphere. I need a home office "space", right now I'm in my bedroom, next to the TV, on my "play" computer. I need at least a corner, with proper lighting and desk space. And no toys. I think that will make a BIG difference. But, I'm not worried about that right now, I do have places I can go to work. The guy I work for in Stoughton I know will be happy to let me hole up in his conference room if I need to. I really think that cheap laptop is in order. I can work off that from another office. So if I'm not getting things done at home, I just pack up, go out to the office and work there. It's good to be the king.
Tanget: I got a movie last night. More John Cusack. This line made me snark for 5 minutes in the theatre, and I forgot where it was in the movie, so it made me snark again this morning:
Dork: "You wouldn't be familiar with our immediate (musical) influences."
John: "Try me."
Dork: "They're mostly German."
John: "Kraftwerk? Falco? Hasslehoff?"
[Dork gives John the finger, John ignores him....]
I'm sorry I know it's totally out of context, but I almost hurt myself in the movie.
I'm sitting here giggling.
*sigh* I don't want to go to work tomorrow. I'll have to work my butt off to make up for goofing off today. But I can't help but think I needed thsi very badly.
I don't think I'll be at ManRay tomorrow, I may just have to work too late. I was thinking about not going anyway. It'll depend on how early I get to work and whether or not my friend Ruthie wants to go.
