And then there was shame
Well, first there was joy, as Asshat comes up to me and says "well, the mail isn't in yet and you really don't have anything else to do, why don't you pack it in?" Don't have to ask me twice! I "packed up" in record time, since I was websurfing at that point anyway. Little does HE know that _I_ know he doesn't want me around talking to the sales guys while he's not there. _I_ know about his behind the back attempt to screw one of the guys out of a lot of money before he's fired. AND I hear him chewing out his best sales guy, the one that's friendly, and pretty successful. They're both quitting, and Salesguy number 2 thinks he'll fold if they both quit. Which neatly solves my problem of work, since he won't have any and won't want to pay me to come in. I think I'm going to call around.
Speaking of that I have to call CPA number 2. Yes still.
So after I was freed, and I'm NOT in any position to argue that, and I'm not I'd happily give up the hours, I'd rather have not heard the chewing out this morning either, I left pretty damn fast. I stopped at the AAA in Rockland to get Teh Unit's travel books. I think she's SOL tho, there wasn't anything for the area they're going to, in Upstate NY. They gave me the whole NY book, and a Montreal book. Fact is there's now a ton of Montreal stuff, with my books from last year. And they might not even go there. I want shoes if they do.
Here's where the shame comes in, I needed to eat. I decided on Chinese food. Which contains rice. That thing I'm trying to avoid. BUT DAMN is this place ever GOOD! I had Sweet and Sour chicken, which came SOAKED completely. It also came with a soup, one of the best Hot and Sour's I've ever had as well. Not much Tofu (I'm sorry I loathe the texture) and nice and spicy.
So I've just finished eating pretty much everything on the plate, stupid rice! WHY must you be so tasty! I have to clean up some, and maybe get some ice cream. Then, I need to do some work and make some calls. Then I have to figure out what to do money wise. I'm pretty sure asshat WILL cut me a check next week, most likely Monday, and I am going to go on that assumption. So maybe I WILL be out tonight.
I should also answer a lot of LJ comments I've gotten and not answered. But first I need to open my windo and turn on the A/C in the other room, it's blasted HOT in my room, as in sweat dripping off the nape of my neck hot.

Which could mean anything from right on the lake, to 3 miles away. *shrugs* They are also talking about looking for things to do "in the area" like they did in New Hampshire in prior years, and taking a day trip to Montreal, which according to her, is close enough for said day trip.
Mind you, this is Teh Unit, her alcoholic boyfriend, my sister, her steopdaughter (10) my nephew (8) and neice (3 months)
*rolls eyes*
I'm going to send her to Borders for books, but if you have any info on the Lake Champlain area, I'd be grateful (as it'll get her off my back!)
