You know what's better
than oral surgery?
EMERGENCY oral surgery.
If I was using his "guy" he'd have called and bullied me onto the schedule. As it is I have to be as pushy as possible, to have this done, like, NOW.
Worst - he did NOTHING for my tooth and charged me for the privilege. He complained about "bone loss" but you know I've been thinking if SOMEONE had yanked the tooth AS I'D ASKED instead of doing a PARTIAL ROOT CANAL I might not be in this mess as I am? I mean YES it's my fault I waited, but I'm thinking the seriousness of the situation is on HIS head (or ass, as it were.)
Another 10 days of horse pills, wiping out almost all of my new credit, and the fact that I must now WILLINGLY pester a nice lady to pry my mouth open while I'm knocked out and remove 4 teeth. Because HE thinks it's a "good idea" for all four to come out at once.
Feh.
I'm currently eating junk and drinking soda. It can't get much worse. Once I start taking the horse pills I should have some lessening of discomfort. CVS is working on them now. Clindamycin. Expensive as fuck.
Fucking fuck man. Fucking Fuck.

- I have a molar what is b0rken. I went in to a different dentist when it went "HURTY HURTY HURTY" about a year ago. This guy tried to save the tooth with a root canal, but decided it was "too far gone" and advised me to have oral surgery to remove it, since:
- I also have bad wisdom teeth. THIS guy I see now removed one when it went "OOOOOWWWWW HURTY HURTY!" about a year ago. So I have three left, and he says "As long as you're going under for one, have them take out everything."
- He wants me to have an implant, which at this point means regenerative bone therapy.
I have no insurance, dental or otherwise. They're quoting me about $2000 which is why I haven't done it yet.
I'm planning on a couple of days off at least. But, I don't think I'll need that many. When I had the one out, I was a bit iffy for the day, mostly since I had to go see a client and forgot my pain killers (which were OTC Aleves, he said I could have something if I wanted it, I ended up not needing it.) I took Aleve, I slept most of the afternoon and was fine.
I'm figuring with all these coming out I'll be out of it for a day, then sore for a day or two. This isn't "complicated" says the dentist, he just wants more care taken with the removal of this evil tooth.
I just want the fucker out. And my helpful mother just walked in and said "I hope YOU have someone to get you because _I'M_ not." She takes off the better part of two weeks to take my sister to the hospital with FALSE labor pain.

I'm not old or crazy (which are the only two ways I've seen anyone get medicaid benefits)
And I'm obviously NOT paying for it out of pocket - since it's not done yet *grins* Seriously, it's been both the attitude of the offices and my bad attitude.
"We have a credit line you apply for and pay like a credit card"
"Ok, but I'm not going to get that I've had credit problems, what other options do you have?"
"*SPLUTTER* WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T GET IT??????"
*Pause*
"uh, I mean I won't get it, and i need this surgery."
"*huff* Well you CAN give us a post dated check for a week later for half. The rest is upfront."
"Um, yeah, Ok let me call you once hell freezes over, ok?"
I'm either calling my mother's surgeon, or looking into the dental schools. We have Tufts and BU both close enough to go to. *shrugs* the thing is I've had several "real" jobs and never had dental insurance so this doesn't surprise me.
MAybe I should look into this medicaid thing....

I know of some people who can help to make the consumption of mushy foods far more entertaining, if need be. :)

I don't need mushy food, but I am having issues with chewing on that side. Supposedly this will be fixed with the removal of said tooth. Although I might need mushy food help AFTER the removals. So maybe forward me that list *evil grin*

And I just got the runaround with a surgeon.
*rolls eyes*
And all of this is going to cost me out the butt, and ALL I get from people is "WHY don't you have dental insurance??" I mean honestly, maybe I want to do something with my life that doesn't revolve around 9-5.
Feh. I can't do anything but take pills all weekend. Poop.
I should have just had this yanked TWO YEARS ago and suprise surprise they want me to "save it" with lots of money.*grumble*
