a minute ago, I'm absolutely sure now.

I want AWAY from the company that holds my student loan.
They have an online payment service that, pretty much, sucks. it's way too complicated, the password is from "them" and they always screw with things. Their "financial hardship" amount is ludicrously low, and I let it lapse, and NOW the payment is WAY too high. (Higher than my former car payment. I'm not pleased that I COULD Have that new car except for this loan.)

The online payment option was down yesterday. I emailed wanting to know if it was just me, that I needed to make a payment, that should I send a check. THEY send back what almost looks like an automated reply. I'm sure it's cut and pasted right out of a script. It's SNIPPY, to say the least. Saying that online payment is a courtesy, I should have paid it MORE in advance, so that if it was down I could send a check without having to worry THEM about it, and reminding me that they do for me even tho I'm late. Yes, they MADE SURE to point out my account is overdue. Funny, I think taking care of my car, and eating is a BIT more important than their inflated payment schedule. This is no 20 year payoff, I can tell. This is more like 10. It's supposed to be 20. To make it AFFORDABLE.

I resent when companies act like I provide THEM a service. I'm going to look around to see what my options are. I'm even considering going into NEU and talking to financial aid, which I want to do anyway, thanks to the classes I'm still lusting over. I need to know what my options are. This is a company that helped me when I needed it, but they sucked then, and they suck now. Maybe I should talk to the other company I have a loan with - it's in my mother cosign, and THEY are always polite, and respectful, and I pay them religiously (It helps that the payment is much lower, but it's also timed right and they helped with that.)

Meh. I hate poor customer service. I've had my fill lately.

*ADDENDUM* OK after a quick look at my budget, and figuring in what my CPA#2 owes me for two weeks, and NOT figuring in what he'll owe me for THIS week, and not considering what CPA #1 owes me for the month (which I'm going to try my hardest not to ask for til next month) I'm in WAY better shape than anticipated. As long as the car isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg. I'm setting a limit of $700 to repair the car - any more and I might have to reconsider, or do the work in pieces. Like the brakes and an oil change this time, then the big overhaul next time (which would allow me to use my coupons!) and the muffler at a Midas. I'm thinking that should get the car working. If they find something else, I might have to reconsider. I'm afraid the belt needs replacing. Plus the issue with the radiator, and I'm wondering how bad it can get. Guess I'll find out Thursday. I really want to wait for them to look, but I do need to get to a client.

Didn't I say I wasn't going to be working? grrrrr.
