Opened my box of Starry Night to mix up half.
Came out oddly, the creme developer is a bit watery. I was just going to pop it into the bottle of creme developer I have, but it's not the same. So I used it to mix the dye in the bottle, with my little measuring cup and mixing bowl. What's on my hair feels "right" What I mixed in the bowl SMELLED very bad - I'm not sure why, it didn't smell as bad the last couple of times. I didn't crack the little scent thingy, I want to find a bottle to put it in and use it the next time I mix the dye.
Strangest thing of all - the bottle of dye in the box doesn't say "Starry Night" like it should. It says Bright Black. Now, this isn't the same color name as the professional list. But, it seems to be #21, and on the professional list #210 is "Polished Soft Black" which says Level 2- base intense blue. The one I did a couple of weeks ago was #216 Gleaming Radiant Black, which says bases blue and red. It came out red/purple/black. So, I'm thinking next time, we're trying Polished Soft Black, with some deep purple mixed in. I'm wondering if I need to mix in more developer? Hmmmm - I'm starting to get the hang of this *grins*

Date: 2004-02-01 12:48 am (UTC)I did a whole buncha nothin' except chat with my Pet.
I actually had to absently start mixing the dye before I'd do it.
*sighs* I just feel like I couldn't even have tonight off, you know? I got a friendly "hey we miss you come on over sometimes (and do our taxes)" that made me all poopy, along with having to stay up to this hour I shouldn't be seeing until April to pick up M.
I like being invited places, but I HATE being pressured into it. I'm lucky D&D are so understanding, I just feel surrounded by those who don't get it.
OK, um, didn't mean to vent, heh. *hugs* happy dyeing
