Things about work
Oct. 17th, 2003 05:22 pmgood and bad
Bad - got here after 1, closer to 1:30
Bad - Passive agressive displeasure over arrival time from Boss.
REALLY Good - Setup of DSL on EVERY networked computer, so I can be goofing off AND working!
Good - Brand new spiffy office laptop
Good - potential aquisition of older crappy laptop for nephew from boss, thanks to spiffy new laptop (I.E. He can trash it and it's already tired and old)
Good - Permission from here for Evil Plot, Verion 2.1
Bad - Permission hinging on sale of soul to boss (and all my other bosses. I swear if I hear the words "As long as all your work is done." one more time I'm going to scream!!)
Good - Excessive amounts of work will pay for whatever I need.
Bad - Excessive amounts of work means less time at home for little things like, oh, sleep, for example.
Bad - Every One Of My Clients seems to think they are my Numero Uno Priority in advance of Evil Plot Version 2.1. They are mistaken.
Bad - Having to sit down, and schedule EVERY MINUTE of the next two and a half weeks, and MAKE SURE I STICK TO IT. Oh, and did I mention actually being productive?
Gah - See, this is what makes me a bad student. I like to set aside ALL THE TIME NEEDED, not just a couple of hours for certain clients, that way, if I run into snags, I'm not rushing out in the middle of a project, or making myself even later somewhere else. Who only works til 5 these days? It can't just be me who works long and shitty hours!
And, let's not forget THIS bad -
Bad - The excessive amount of work I STILL have to do tonight, which makes leaving at 6 impossible, and 6:30improbable, making my arrival at
scorched_angel's show potentially cancelled. *GROWL*
And you know - I LIKE Internet Explorer. More than Netscape anyway. My boss INSISTS On using Netscape, and I have NO FREAKING CLUE how to set half this shit up! And no, I'm not going to switch at home, just so I can make her happy.
*buries head in hands* I'm SO swamped. but, I have my eyes on the prize, to be revealed in due time, once all my ducks are lined up to be shot. When I get home, I need to do an analysis of anything keeping me from this, and make a *gasp* decision. *crosses fingers*
