Uh oh

New evil plot afoot.

So, someone tell me I'm nuts.

There's a Super Sekret (not so anymore) show in Phily on Halloween. The Cruxshadows, small venue. I don't really want to put my car through that, so I wasn't going to go.

BUT
- I can get a round trip ticket for $131 on Amtrak
- I go to Phily and HOPEFULLy find a reasonable hotel room (the plan hinges on this) Maybe even find someone nice to chare a room with (anyone?)
- I can Amtrak to NYC the next day, stay with either staralfurin or rydia and see the Cruxshadows Saturday night at Downtime
- Come home Sunday, by 6, for my dental appointment the next morning.

I figure I could spend about $200, give or take meals. and not including the cost of the ticket to the show in Phily (which I would get right now)

I need Friday, the 31st off, which I was thinking about doing anyway, and I have to take Monday off, although I MIGHT go to work after the root canal (it wasn't THAT bad, I was just whiney, and I'd rather see my husband)

What do we think? How crazy am I?

Not crazy. We will be there. We may be looking to share a room. I know of a hotel in Philly that we usually get for around $100 a night (it's downtown). We prolly won't be at Downtime the next night, but one never knows ;-)

Ohh - Really?
I was HOPING for such a thing, but I felt rude asking.
I'm clean, fairly neat, don't steal, and usually am the Designated Driver (except for this one night in London, that was HANGOVER central next day. *shudder* reasons why poetman shouldn't get blitzkreig drunk.)

I'm OK in NYC, but I've never been to Philly. I just didn't want to take a bus, but with the train being reasonably priced, I might just pack my carry on, and go "light" for the weekend.

I do have money issues tho, as in
- J wants me to visit on his birthday, instead of December.
- The root canal I have scheduled for the 3rd (monday *gags*)
- The Duran Duran show the following weekend in AC (The hotel is FOUR FIFTY a night! And the tickets aren't on sale yet!) I have a friend here who really wants to go, so I might make it happen, but I have to poke around regarding hotels. I was also hoping you'd have a "plan" so to speak - I bow to your extensive knowledge.

I'm not usually such a suckup *grins* but when DD or the Cruxshadows are involved, I'll do whatever I have to!

We're planning on doing Duran Duran, but I must warn you that tickets to the Borgata shows are flippin' $100 or more a pop. May I enquire as to why you are staying at the Borgata itself? It's nice, but it is the most expensive hotel in Atlantic City and there are other nice places to stay close by.

Also, I think it will be HELLA difficult to get tickets. How are you planning on getting yours? I wanna go real, real bad but I'm not getting my hopes up that we'll actually get tickets :-(

I'm sure Bob wouldn't have a problem with sharing a room in Philly. We were planning on staying the night anyway and we frequently share when we're down there. If money is a big, big issue - you could see about taking the train to NYC or Newark and then meeting us for the ride to Philly. However, on the way back we're stopping at the aquarium - so we can't provide a direct ride back to the city.
