Furniture update

I actually saw some things I liked, except the prices are NUTS. I mean, $250 for a 7 drawer lingerie chest, that STILL needs to be painted/stained? And it's made out of pine! Not even Cedar. the cedar ones - WAY more expensive.
I found the nightstand I liked, which is actually the one NOONE liked in my poll *laughs* It's 29 inches tall, has three deep drawers, and is just a standard wood that would be painted, I'm thinking a black texture, kinda like my bed, which is the standard Goffick Metal Bed with canopy. The thing is the THREE deep drawers. It's around $150, plus the stain/paint (which I haven't decided on yet) Now, instead I COULD get the 6 drawer Lingerie chest, which is about $220, but it's 40 inches tall, which defeats the purpose of having it level with my bed for my clock and glasses. (Yes I wear glasses, get over it.) and stuff like that.
But I'm now looking at Target and thinking "hey maybe I can do this way cheaper!" Now I'm resisting the "let's buy crap furniture, since it's cheap" but I'm also resisting the $300 it'll cost to get the "nice" nightstands. I don't know when I hit the wall with adult furnishings. Maybe when I have my own place.
I'm going to head over to Target. They have a Wicker Basket filing cabinet for $200 so I don't feel too bad about wanting to spend $300 on nightstand, that are exactly what I want. I'm looking at my current filing solution, which has two small drawers and one big enough for hanging files. I'm thinking this one is PERFECT and it was only about $20, if I can find it. I wanted something a bit more sturdy, but let's see. Target has the modular pieces I was looking at. So let's go look!

Addendum - The cubes with drawers come already in black (alder) and are $35 per two drawer set. So, for $150 I get 8 drawers, at the perfect height. guess what I'm doing!
