Weird last couple of days
Jun. 30th, 2001 07:31 pmBut funny, how calm and rational I feel. Made some decisions, and, as usual, sticking with them. Nice, I like when things fall into place.
Yesterday was nice. After working hard all week, in NH especially with the commute, it was nice to slow down. Although I thought I'd never get out of the house to meet Dancer. And I got to ride in the Sexy car. *grin* We went to Sedona Sun for pampering. The place is so nice. I'd been worried that it would be all stuck up and frou frou, and it wasn't. I only got a manicure and a pedicure, and D got a facial as well. I think I want to go back to get a massage form Maya, I'm much more comfortable with her after talking all afternoon, I don't let just anyone touch me you know *grin*
Then off to meet up with Marcus, for a bit. With his new "chew toy" I don't get to see him all that often. But I had definitely had enough.
Today was the Wampanoag Festival Powwow down in Mashpee, near where I work. I was thinking ofFeline all day, and I should have thought ahead and told you about it and had you meet us there. Oh well, I'll remember for next year (I got you a couple of pressies, couldn't help it). It was HOT as HELL! But, there was a cutie honey to watch. He was in all purple with tons of fringe and was dancing a traditional Grass dance, which involved a lot of swooping, and bending and showing off his cute butt. *sigh* I wish I had at least gotten his name, I'm pretty sure he is from the Mashpee tribe. Then I could have flirted, but he kept running off, which I don't blame him. I don't know how these guys were dancing in some of these outfits. One had huge feathers, in a headdress and a back harness that was just awesome! I wouldn't have minded going back, but it's an hour down and I'm pooped.
Tomorrow is get up early and go to get Depeche Mode tix for that evening. I know this is our best shot at AWESOME seats, so I'm crossing piggies. D needs to be all up on Dave Gahan. It's the only band she gets freaky about. So It's my job to make it happen. It's hard being the mover and shaker in the relationship. *grin*
I think I'm staying in long enough to clean, then track down Marc.

Date: 2001-06-30 11:48 pm (UTC)Next year, let me know and I'll even go in my regalia.....which means pretty much all leathers (traditional women don't show any skin other than on the neck and head and hands)....
Next year
Date: 2001-07-01 08:37 am (UTC)And this boy was SO damn yummy. I'm a sucker for purple. (well duh) They started with a Wampanoaog procession, and that's where he was so I'm pretty sure he's a local. I'm not sure exactly though, he may be a part of the tribe from somewhere else. That'd suck out loud. At least I got to see him dance, and he was really good (And he was in the men's competition, so I'm not robbing the cradle).
It's happening today and tomorrow, if you had a day off tomorrow I'll give you directions, but I'm assuming you're not off tomorrow.
PS Buffalo meat burgers are AWESOME! They have a lot of native food, and stuff for sale. I usually come home with bunches of jewelry. *grin*

Date: 2001-07-01 08:42 am (UTC)As for competitions, I don't do those. The grand entry I do (it's what we call them back home), but competitioons aren't my thing. Powwows are all about spirituality for me.
And buffalo all around is great. If you ever get a chance....the steaks are marvelous.....
