I blame Mercury.
I started out OK, albiet late, actually get a space near the post office, and find noone in the post office, so I get waited on right away. there's enough postage on this package to make even me go "Huh, I wonder if this is full of a white powery substance, laced with something nasty?" Finally get my DVD set.
Then
-my chicken sandwich from BK tastes :funny" doesn't stop me from eating it, but still.
- get to work, and it takes about an hour to put things together to be mailed. Since my boss somehhow doesn't hear me say "geez I need ten minutes" and keeps asking me questions
-I change the accounts in the Quickbooks file of a client - just to find out that I used the wrong file for the company I was working with
- I had to input billing info all freakin day (This isn't a bad hting, it just sucked)
- I had to pick up my mother after she drops off her car for work. I spent a lovely half hour, while driving and getting dinner, listening to UNENDING noise while they BOTH (my nephew and my mother) bitch at me.
- I finally get home and listen to them continue to argue.
- Get into an arguement myself while saying "Geez, maybe you shouldn't criticize the kids mother OR call him stupid right in front of him, even though you're using the third person, he's not dumb you know."
And finally
My DVD set isdubbedsubtitled in Engrish. VERY NOT GOOD Engrish. I may not be able to deal with it. The Character's name is Aya. They SAY Aya. The dub subtitles call her "Little Fairy" and my mind does BAD THINGS with that! I may just resell it on Ebay and buy the damn offical versions, I'm SUCH an anime snob *sighs*
I do only really post depressing things. *sigh* I need to sit down to this thing in a better mood.
I think Ihad more, but I'm off to move my car, tweek my finances, and watch some Engrish Anime before the pleasure that is the properly dubbed InuYasha

Date: 2003-05-16 08:14 am (UTC)i have a bunch of dvds like that... end of eva, death and rebirth, gundam 08th ms team, gundam 0083. they aren't as clean as the official releases, but they have their own charm. they're generally pretty fun to watch, and you can make out the plot, just some specific interactions are tough.
i keep thinking about re-subbing them. rip the audio and video, drop the subtitles, and use a subtitle editor to translate from engrish to english.

Like dropped letters and words, and it being ONLY in direct translation, I'm missing a LOT.
AND the character names are All wrong, it's confusing.

The little fairy thing is getting to me, lots of things are. if I didn't want to watch it so badly I'd have yanked it by now. Plus selling it? The description, to satisfy me would have to read "OK, it's a cheap knockoff copy from Hong Kong, the subtitles are BAD, and not all of them are there! Please bid anyway!"
Oh well, it's not going to stop me from watching it, although if I bill a certain hell client, and also buy a plane ticket to Atlanta, I may just drop the money on the offical versions via DVD Planet.
