Paging the DC contingent
May. 6th, 2003 12:20 pmYeah, LJ as a pager.
I just got an email from Orbitz about tickets. The fare is as cheap as it may go, I have to double check for Labor Day weekend, but Delta is having a BIG ass sale.
If you can afford it - buy a ticket now. I'm planning on evaluating my options on Friday, and buying the ticket then if I can.
Not kidding.
OK, back to lunch then work.

Update - everywhere I've checked - $187 round trip, on Delta, Logan to Atlanta Hartsfield. My DC trip, was just over $200, tfor the ticket. Depart Thursday from Logan, return Tuesday from Atlanta.
I'd like to arrive about check-in time Thursday, to get the room and get settled, then pick up my con badge. Then, bed early for the next day. There are things going on til Monday afternoon, then get to bed early-ish again for an early flight home on Tuesday. This is from experience - getting in on Friday and leaving Monday SUCKED.
More later.

Date: 2003-05-08 05:01 am (UTC)What's the best way for me to buy these? I have the $ now, but don't know the best way to order (not being a big traveler and all).
Re: Plan tix
Date: 2003-05-08 08:02 am (UTC)It's really easy, the price they quote you on the front page includes ALL taxes, they're very up front with pricing.
You can do everything over the web, and the site is very secure. I bought both my last DragonCon tickets AND my London tickets from them. They walk you through the whole thing. You have to give them your email, and "sign up" if you will, but they only send me a travel email once a month, and I don't get any spam from them.
Let me know what you decide to do - I'd like to have a quick chat with you guys before you make itineraries, but, I really don't want to have any say, in case i end up not going (And things look a bit tight - my car payoff is higher than expected, but I'm going to just do it. I have 3 months to save up other money for the Con, I'm not going to worry about *grins*)
Maybe I'll give you a buzz tonight? before Goffee? (I need a night at home, I'm not going anywhere tonight.)
