May. 1st, 2003 01:29 pmGlad I never had the time to snoop.
Lou told me last night that they'd lost a few guys (including his old commander) from his unit, but I'd never seen anything like that, and I'd been watching for any mention of his battallion.
A quick run through on the casualty list on CNN found me these guys. Rather quickly. Had I ever looked at the WHOLE list, I would have found them, and WIGGED. That whole thing where there were a bunch of attacks on troops around the 1st of April. The guys were all from the same battallion, which is also Lou's (obviously.)
When he says "a couple of close calls" he's not kidding. Makes me VERY RELIEVED to have him back in Georgia, where, if I start to wig, I can call him and hear him. It's odd how MORE protective of him I've become. Of all my friends, he's the one who can take care of himself the MOST, and look hot in a uniform doing it. Hmmmmm - He wants excuses to wear his dress uniform, maybe I'll take him somewhere REALLY fancy schmancy so he can.

Date: 2003-05-01 11:01 am (UTC)As for formal events, check out the vintage dances (http://www.vintagedancers.org/events.html) They did have a Returning Heroes Ball with a Civil War theme but any military garb would have been accepted. If you know Nicole, she usually has some good contacts for formal events.

Date: 2003-05-01 11:07 am (UTC)And do you mean Nicole Desert Storm/Shields? *evil grin* I probably wouldn't ask her to help me cross a street, you know. I dunno, I'll look at the link later and see if this might interest him. Somehow i think an evening with strippers will more appeal to him *evil grin* I didn't want to say it on the main page, but he's probably going to try and get into MR in it *snicker*
