So I want a new pair of boots. It's more like I need them at this point. I don't really have a pair of all around stomper boots, for when I don't want to wear heels, or want to troop around somewhere for hours on end.

I have decided, mostly, that I think I want a pair of New Rocks, since everyone I talk to with them loves them. Yup, expensive, but worth it. this is going to be my big "present" to myself, I may have to save up some more for my DVD collection, but I have plans for that. Anyway, I can afford this, and I think it's necessary need, and a long-term investment.

So (and forgive the links, I'd rather put pictures in but linking isn't good right now) I looked over the New Rock website, and I REALLY like these
Pros:
- I really like them
- The style is what I had in mind
- They still have a bit of a heel
Cons:
- The price.
- Shipping from Spain since I'd have to order them

Then, today, the best source in one of my LJ communities posted about StomperBoots.com, they're having a BIG sale on New Rocks, and I've discovered another style, the Stomper(scroll down, I'm sorry I can't figure out how to link right to them. They're almost to the bottom, with the cute goth guy *grins*) (heh, they get these special.) They resemblethese on the New Rock Site. but, they lack two buckles, which I LIKE< i'm not too keen on too many buckles on me. Since trying on Kirsten's new Rocks, with their velcro closures, I'm very much liking this idea. The Stompers are like what I THINK I want, although not quite in the style I was going with. But, the style I liked, I'm not so sure of anymore.
Pros:
- I like the whole "stompy" style
- very much like Kirsten's in the ways I liked
- On the site, they're 33% off, making them WELL under $150, even with shipping.
Cons:
- They may be out of my size (projected at 39 Euro) the 40 may be too big
- They're not the one I fell for, (But hesitate to buy because of the price)
- Don't know how long this sale lasts, may only be days.

I'd like comments, if you love or hate the boots. I'm leaving this open to everyone, feel free, even if I don't know you.

Please keep in mind that I DO need a pair of boots, for everyday hard wear, for when I go out and about (like walking around London for days? Hello!) so I don't mind spending the money on the right boots.

hey, here is my opinion:

check to see if the sale has your size. If they don't, get the first pair. I have had some trouble with european shoe sizes tho, I am exactly in between two sizes, so be very careful you have got the right size.

Other than that, you seem to have good taste in shoes. This could be a bad influence on me...

I tried on a pair of New Rock 39's this weekend. (That is the aforementioned Kirsten, she's tiny as shit and wears the same size shoes. I'm very depressed about this) They seemed a bit loose, but not enough that I'd want to risk going down a size, but enough that I don't want to risk going UP a size. I'm very glad I got to try them on.

The boots I like, tho, I'm hesitating on the size (I'm just not sure), the price (I mean A HUNDRED bucks difference!) AND, the calves. I just don't think they'll fit me in the calves, I have muscular legs thanks to all the weight I haul around. I think the ones I adore need to be found and tried on in NYC.

I'm thinking about calling the company to see if they have anything. Maybe I'm wrong about them being out. Or, this is the one style they will be reordering, they're still pretty cheap, so I can place an order for after the sale.

Heh, you and I should tackle the shoes shopping before you go back to England (*thinks positive thoughts*) I'm MEAN and EVIL when it comes to finding the bestest shoes. *LOL*
