I just had the oddest argument
Feb. 7th, 2003 11:38 pmwell, sort of a group thing.
Between my car and me
and the pile of snow in back of him (my car)
I decided to go clean off my car in preparation of rolling outta bed in the morning, and hightailing it to the Cape for my Day Of Hell. The earlier I get there, the earlier I will get home. Could make the difference between 9 and 10. I'm hoping to be there by 9:30, if I can get moving by 8:30, maybe by 10 with stopping for coffee and donuts. Anyway.
So, I'm plowed in, sort of. See my sister's space is next to my mother's space, and since her boyfriend is a dickhead, of course it's HIS space. He has a big ass Jeep, and he hasn't pulled forward enough, so the plow went by, didn't cut in any further, so I have a HUGE mound of snow, about 2 feet wide. OK, no prob. I start to clean off my car. I thought I should pull out of the space a bit, to give the engine room to warm up, and not go wonky. This was my mistake,
I couldn't get the friggin car back in the space for about 10 minutes. The mound of snow got packed down, and was so wide I didn't get any traction. I had to pull away from the space, dig it out some, pull in, pull out AGAIN and dig some more. Thank the gods the snow was light and fluffy, and that I have a portable shovel. It was more annoying than anything else.
I'm hoping the plow comes around again tomorrow, they really do a shitty job, and it's obvious they haven't been back since before 6, maybe 7, there's a layer of fresh snow over obviously plowed spots, a lot of snow. I think that may have come by once. Now I went out and came back by 2, and from then til 10 the plow only comes once? What the hell do we pay for anyway?
So now all I'm going to do is shower, blow dry my hair so I don't have bed hair from sleeping in wet hair. I just don't dare do it in the morning, it'll add a hella lot of time on. Plus I didn't find ANYTHING in my source book in the car, I need my boss's reference, this really excellent spiral bound "hints" style book, just simple explanations. I'm seriously thinking I should buy one, she uses them all year and after. I should buy one every year, but I usually just use hers *evil grin*
There's SO much stuff I didn't do today. I just sat around, but, to be honest, that's what I should do with my day off. I can't just go and go, I'll burn out and collapse. I need a plan, and give myself permission to relax. I need to budget my time better, and I need to stick to a schedule.
Whoo, I need some retail therapy. I REALLY want new boots, and something new and pretty and fluffy would be nice. I think I sneak attack on Torrid is in order. Kamikaze, commando style. *evil grin* Plus I need a gift for Katie, her B-day is next week, I'm thinking a nice PHAT gift card is in order. That is, AFTER I get paid, and try to make a dent in some other things. I need to go shopping with Lettie, I like her style and I want to do more things with her, girly nice nice things (not in a naughty way, unless Hagen-Daas is naughty, in which case I'm downright Eeeevil, man!)
