Today's symptom
Jan. 30th, 2003 03:09 pmSwollen Gums!
Those of you who had swollen gums on the chart win and proceed to the next round.
Add to that, and get this, I called a dentist, recommended by a coworker of my mother's, right nearby. I call and the receptionist was SUPER nice, and very sympathetic to my pain. Except the doctor is in a large conference in Boston, large in that almost every other dentist is probably there. She looked at me and said "This is a bad weekend for an emergency." *laughs weakly*
So they had me run in, from the audit, at which I was almost done anyway, and have an Xray, and the doctor is going to stop in on his way back, review the Xray, and my history, and call me back regarding an exam and what's going to be done. Now THAT's a dentist. It was a nice, small office, they validated parking, I was in and out. I have a feeling I'm going to be getting up early tomorrow, as the nurse took one look at my gums and tooth and said "Oh yeah, that's gotta come out." And we thought that maybe the Aleve was keeping the swelling down in my gum, and when it wore off last night is when my gum started swelling. The pills weren't doing anything, so I stopped taking them. Voila, I guess they WERE helping. I took one, to try and get the swelling down, and lo and behold the return of the throbbing pain, slowly. *sighs* I can't win.
So I'm supposed to go back to the audit, but I don't really want to and my boss doesn't really want me to. I was playing footsie with the depreciation program, and a tooth extraction is FAR more fun than this f-ing program. I have to call her and sound miserable. *grins* She's not alone there, and everything is done anyway, so I really don't HAVE to go all the way back, and she'd rather have me sleep and rest and show up tomorrow *grins*
