I'd ride around in a white sleigh, with white horses, and a black ermine cloak, giving candy to children, and, um, killing everyone else."

*sigh* Now I'm thinking about how cool it would be to be the White Witch. Except I'd get my ass handed to me by a lion, and 4 frickin kids. Not that Aslan ain't all that and a bag of chips. If it weren't for the STUPID teacher who pointed out the Christ similarities, I could have happily ignored THOSE thanks.

Yay for an hour of Inuyasha, a half hour of Yu-Yu Hakusho coming up, and my Fushigi Yugi box set hopefully to arrive by next weekend.

all the way. I had no idea that it was all a religious metaphor. Honestly I was happier not knowing, myself being an agnostic and somewhat intimidated by the invasive nature of Christianity at large. On the flip side, if Christianity was like Narnia, prolly a lot more people would buy it.

Disclaimer (dunno if this is necessary but here goes anyways...)hopefully I didn't just put my feet in my mouth. Not intending to bash religion or whatnot and I know people get touchy about that but the above is just mho.

First - No disclaimer necessary. Recovering Roman Catholic, non-practicing Pagan (active anyway, funny, whenever I need HER help I get it) I, personally, don't mind when anyone has an active, intelligent conversation to have over G*d, his family or whatever.

I'm not sure i buy the whole Narnia = Christianity thing, although I've heard it. It's more the Aslan = Jesus thing, hard to ignore what with the sacrifice of Aslan's life for man. I remember having an animated discussion with _someone_ (I don't remember who *pouts*) regarding C.S. Lewis, and his strong Christian beliefs, and how Naria was a kind of Utopia.

Although I find it baffling how I used to be afraid of and frightened by the Witch when I was younger, and now I'm facinated by her. perhaps due to my being a Good Catholic Girl when I READ the books in the first place (actually read them in class, with a teacher I discover more and more each day how much her excellent way fo teaching affected me, she read us "A Wrinkle In Time" as well.) I think I may realize the Witch's "goddess" aspect, since finding Paganism in high school.

I do believe a reread of the Chronicles of Narnia is in order. One more thing to thank the Brits for, they tend to just create with good literature. I need to rent the BBC productions.
