Home again, home again
Dec. 2nd, 2008 09:11 amSo, to sum up, because home has it's own stuff:
- I didn't get bumped *pouts* I actually had one guy go "well you're in COACH, what do you expect?" Uh, that you'd overbooked the steerage class due to having too much travel nonsense from the day before? Whatever
- the hotel in London had cheap wireless but we were too busy for me to post. I did check email and LJ in commando bursts
- We got a "family room" in the rescheduled hotel, which included a pull out couch sofa. Awesome!
- Did goth things Saturday. Nice to see peoples, sorry to have missed others. I might have a post on why I'm shaking my cane at you kids, but I'm still thinking about that
- did bring and buy briefly on Sunday, followed by donuts in Camden. *swoon* I saw some things I liked, the wallet told me no.
- Did the Eye. Let me personally thank my mother for the paranoia whispering in my ear about heights, about the thing clearly ABOUT to fall over into the Thames, and how the capsule was going to shake off in the wind. Because you know these things happen all the time. Number of times the Eye has fallen into the Thames? Well there's eventually 1. But survived, didn't panic, will pummel my mother when I see her for the bad genes.
- V&A yesterday, briefly, both of us exhausted and needing to get to the airport reasonably early. I hate abrupt goodbyes, and LM and I seem to have them all the time. :(
- uneventful ride home. Managed to get myself some chocolate, but was starving on the plane. Wasn't hungry until I was sitting at the gate going "Huh, We had breakfast a long time ago" INHALED dinner. had some twitchy leg hours on plane. worried about that. Poor girl sitting next to me was reasonable about it, just ignored me which is all I can ask for.
- coming off the plane finally through customs, late taking off, late landing, al of 2 customs officers, and what the hell was up with the double run of officers asking me the same questions? but finally walking out and seeing
le2pold - such a sense of relief, that I didn't have to think anymore he'd get me home (OK I did have to give directions, but hey, I know the route by heart) He hung out til about 1 when I put him out and started fading.
- Not sure what's happening today. I frankly shouldn't be rested after about 6 hours of sleep, but I woke up on my own and not able to sleep anymore. I have some drama to start, but I'm not sure I'm up to instigating it. Not today. I think I need to sort some boxes and clean and do some laundry. I'm unfocused so I should get what I can done as I think of/feel like it. I might spend some of it catching up on bad TV.
- There's also some friend stuff I need to deal with, seems everyone forgot I was going away, and I have emails and voice mails and texts to reply to. I need to touch base with some people see what the hell went on while I was gone.
