Shock and Awe
Mar. 1st, 2008 06:22 pmOk, the only BAD thing about this is losing 8 hour of PAID extracurricular time.
But I can't be upset about that.
CPA #1 is in Florida. She left me a list last week of things to do. I finished that list, crankily, because it effed with some plans I had. Seems that list was supposed to be for the several Saturdays she would be gone. She had emailed saying "I'll let you know if there's more" and I said, I really need to hit CPA #2, to make up for some time I skipped out on this week. Can I skip Saturday? No answer from her, and I'll check in on NEXT Saturday probably tomorrow.
CPA #2 is where I am now. I was not early *sighs* but figured that's it, I'd get home and watch Naruto and maybe be able to do tings right tomorrow. My first clue was when he was HUNTING for things for me to do. He needs to get some things to a point before it can be handed off to me, and in certain cases he hasn't even made the year end visit to the clients yet (to get the info for me to do. Savvy?) I said So what time do you want me tomorrow? and he said "Uh, I don't know?"
So, instead of coming here, I'm going to the office. And I'm Actually HAPPY about it. I'm OVERWHELMED at the office and NEEDED a day, without phone calls, without anyone looking for me, to get started on February's stuff, and work on an audit book for my biggest client. I made a decent dent in said book Friday evening, but then got on the phone with Teh Unit.
So no, I'm not going to get "paid" for this, and it puts me behind in two weeks, plus a conversation with him that has me dealing with LESS hours in a few weeks *boggle* I just don't know. What I DO know is I'm very very GLAD I cancelled the idea of going to Germany in May. I want to see my British friends, but it would have been a VERY BAD IDEA, money wise, and this way, I have time over the summer to get my stuff sorted, sell what I don't want, donate anything I can't sell, and do some work for CPA #2, who has some ongoing projects that need doing that we forgot about last off Season.
AND - I should be able to be out of here by 8ish. If I stay off the LJ *grins* I wanted a few things at a local store, and I might just pop out to Ikea to treat myself to a pillow they have on the website. I SHOULDN'T, but....I should. *grins again* And we need coffee and some food stuffs. And I have the time to do it, instead of being overwhelmed by work.
It's a breather, and I've earned it. Hopefully tomorrow I can make a list of work and non-day-job things that need doing, and get some of them crossed off.
