I'm getting a lot of virii to my Yahoo account.
For the most part Yahoo and Mailwasher are catching these things, but occasionally I bounce them when the original message comes through. I DON'T open any attachments, except from work (where I also check email but I DO NOT open attachments there unless I'm expecting them. I don't mess with virii)
Well Norton's just informed me that I DO So have a virus on my machine. It has detected and cleaned virii from the bounced messages as it sends. So if Norton's knows, and has dealt with it, HOW THE FUCK did I get infected?
Anyway, I have some deep scanning action going on. I don't know if I can trust what Norton's says tho. I'll be checking it out later on the site, to see if I need to forcefeed Norton's a patch to get rid of the thing.
In the MEANTIME, I'm leaving the computer up while I'm out at a client. I want to know if anyone gets an email from me with a virus on it. I'm of two minds. I want to leave it up, knowing my friends have the aggressive measures in place I do (more so since YOU don't have a virus) but I know some people in my address list DON'T and I don't want them getting this. I'll probably shut down Outlook.
You know, I NEVER had this problem with Outlook Express. I think I need a new and different email client. Something not Microsloth. It's been LOSING emails. I have a sort for my Cruxshadows list, and I just found out that it's not sorting into the folder, it's just going *poof* I've removed ALL sorts and am building all new ones. This port was NOT AS EASY as it was made to seem. I'm tempted to archive all emails via Word, and rebuild Outlook Express. Or SOMETHING.
Yeah I know, I'm Microsoft's whore, and I'M NOT GETTING A MAC SO SHUT IT!
*ahem*
I'm off to dress and get to the client. I woke up early but passed back out.
