Heh, something funny
Nov. 11th, 2002 04:37 pmNOT!
So, some of you may remember my juggling of my trip schedule, so as to accomodate all my clients, and the CPA's daughter who is visiting the CPA in Florida where she vacations for a month. I was going to originally go LAST wee, or this week, so I didn't have to travel near Thanksgiving, but since she was going to visit FL this week, I pushed it forward, so that she can cover the empty office for the remaining two weeks. But, before her trip, she twisted/sprained her ankle severly. She's been on crutches, and in a walking cast since.
Now, I feel very bad for her, but my CPA just told me that since she's still hobbling around, she will NOT be coming into the office At All. SO that means, for the two weeks between the last time I'm scheduled in this office, to when I leave, my week vacation, and the days of the holiday and my scheduled clients, the office is totally uncovered. Mostly, not a problem. EXCEPT for our largest client, whose day to day accounting, like bill paying and bank balancing, who needs to have bills reviewed and mailed at least once a week. She was only supposed to come in twice, once each week, to collect and sort mail, write checks, and mail them to the boss for review and signing.
My CPA sounds disgusted, and I am too. Now, OK, she's injured, but it was a stupid injury in the first place, one that shouldn't have happened, and she's flaked like this before, and she won't stay off the damned FOOT! Basically she's well enough to haul herself, and two kids under the age of 7, from the Cape, to the airport, to FLORIDA, and back, but can't drop by the office once a frickin week to pick up mail, and drop it into a box.
ARGH!
See this is why I wanted to go to London WHILE she was on vacation and NOT count on her. I would have done things differently, I would have scheduled things a hair differently, maybe I would have been able to leave myself a day when I got back, if she hadn't said "Don't worry about it, I'll handle it."
Shame on me for believeing her.
I so don't even want to do anything else. On a positive note, the new computers we just had installed are SPIFFY! Very fast, very tasty. I'm definately buying one this tax season, a nice P4, 1gigplusM, and a flat panel, A BIG one. I am such a size queen. *giggle*
I'm finishing one project, then hauling ass home, to grab a quick bite, and my laptop, and pop into Cambridge for a meeting. In the rain and the dark, it's bloody pitch black down here already!
