I was thinking about talking about voting
Nov. 5th, 2002 12:47 pmI changed my mind. Except for information only.
- I'm a registered Democrat, so I vote Democrat, unless someone catches my attention. Noone has. End of story.
- I REALLY DON'T LIKE Romney. But I really don't like the Shrub either, and look where that got me. AT least I can go to London and say "Hey _I_ didn't vote for him, but this is how our process works. Now fuck off!"
- To me, the process has become so much more important that WHO is in charge. It's all going to be a wash anyway, in the end. Do you really think the Right wing is going to get away with trying to take anything away from the Left, and vice versa? The moral majority isn't, as long as we find our voices and USE them. I find myself more interested in the mechanics, since I have a personal stake in the defense of it (Lou. If he's possibly dying to defend these things I am totally obligated to exercise it.)
- You CANNOT eliminate the State Income Tax. Let's get serious here for a second, where in HELL are they getting money to fund ANYTHING in this state without one? Think about it. Does it need reform, hell yes, should it be equalized and made fair, yes, should it be eliminated, fuck NO! (Let's not mention how OUT of a job I'd be *grins*)
- I think I feel I'm see-sawing on the whole Bilingual thing. I think all children should be taught to their best advantage, and all children should equal opportunities. If this means some of them are taught in Spanish, while they ALSO learn English, so be it.
- The last f-ing question was a bitch, from what I've read about it. But I NEVER think or ever thought taxpayer money should be used to pay for campaigns. it should be used to, I dunno, MAYBE help children who need language lessons???? Sunovabeyatch. Let the bitches raise their own money. F-em.
OK, I'm between clients, and I just had some leftover Lemon Chicken and I feel ready to plunge back to work. Although I'd LOVE to put my feet up and surf. I seriously need to get some work done tonight. Feh.

Date: 2002-11-05 09:57 am (UTC)well, the thing of it is, the Libertarian Party believes the state SHOULDN'T be funding things like public schools and public services. It's not that they think we can fund them without the income tax...
Carla Howell creeps me out. She's this scary no-tax robot-woman who only speaks in the third person.

Date: 2002-11-05 10:53 am (UTC)i do believe that it is the government's job to provide equal fair education for kids. i think ALL schools should be free tho, up to a certain point, like high school, and education should be on PAR everywhere. I'm a big screaming pagan and if I have kids they're going to a Catholic school, becuase for the most part education is simply better. it's not becuase I'm Catholic. it USED to be that way, that ipublic was just as good, now it most certainly isn't. And that's just not fair for, say, my neighbor's kids who can't afford it.
it's a matter of improving life for ALL, by investing in the youth.
*steps off soapbox*
when I get passionate I'm dangerous, it's why i try to stay on the side most of the time *grins*
I don't like pretty much anyone running BTW, it's just a matter of less evil versus complete evil.
