Ewwww.
United and American have dropped prices as low as Virgin.
Thank you for flying DeathTrap airlines, drive through.
*shudder*
Buying ticket when I get home.
NOT flying Scary Crash airlines, I'm sorry, I just can't do it.

Date: 2002-09-23 08:52 am (UTC)OTOH, you'd have to pay me to fly Delta again. Horribly rude staff (I had a gate agent refuse to look at my ticket on the assumption that I didn't actually have a reservation-- wtf???), late flights, bad food, bad everything. Bleh.

Date: 2002-09-23 12:45 pm (UTC)but, going to the UK, and given that Virgin WAS the cheapest til today, actually leaves me with valid reasons, other than "i'm scared"
It's a matter of security, I've always gotten the feeling (and this could be media driven, I'm not sure WHERE the opinion came from) that security on American and United was always more lax, than British Airways or Virgin, for example. Possibly becuase I assumed British Air has it's own measures, since they're UK based. Obviously, there have been issues, just not as many, and I think that given the amount of problems American for example has had, I'm not out of my mind to want to avoid them.
Funny, I flew Delta to Atlanta, and I had a great flight. Nice stewardesses, nice check in people, really hot pilot *grin*. But it was early early, and I had the feeling this was the start of their workday.
*shrug* If I ever go to Mexico with you, I'll defer to your flight choice. For my UK trip, Virgin is the tastiest morsel, so it's MINE *giggle* (I've had a long day and I'm hungry! *grin*)

Date: 2002-09-23 12:54 pm (UTC)I am QUITE admitting I have an irrational fear. I think that there is less security, and less repairs schedules on American and United. Virgin's planes are newer, and I just feel "safer" even tho this may not be QUITE the truth.
Maybe if I flew more than I do, let alone to the UK, I'd feel differently. I've flown 3 times in my life - to the Bahamas in my senior year of high school, to Atlanta last year, and this upcoming trip. If I were more of a jetsetter, maybe I'd feel better about it, but I'm trying to set the odds in my favor. *grin*
