Ewwww.
United and American have dropped prices as low as Virgin.
Thank you for flying DeathTrap airlines, drive through.

*shudder*
Buying ticket when I get home.
NOT flying Scary Crash airlines, I'm sorry, I just can't do it.

I have traveled a lot, on a wide variety of different airlines, and I can tell you that American is bar-none the best airline I have ever used. They deserve our support for their exemplary service, not to be punished for something that had nothing to do with them-- they weren't singled out by terrorists for their brand name, just the flight path those planes were on that day. It could have happened to ANY airline... and to any flight. It makes more sense to not fly at all, than to not fly a specific carrier for fear of terrorism. It's all... luck of the draw. : /

I'd have to agree with you. Though I did once get on one of the new Virgin planes, but they aren't as consistently good as American. I've made _a lot_ of flights back and forth between the US and the UK, and I've never had any trouble with American Airlines. I even showed up *a day late* for a flight back to the UK (yes, sometimes even I am a moron...) and it was no problem at all for me to get on the next flight.

yep! their customer service is incredible. They once held a plane for me and a few other people who were on a connecting flight that was having technical difficulties... they're also the ONLY US airline that flies to all major Latin American cities. AND, they have more leg room than any other coach seats I've ever had. And they bumped me to first class once just for being nice to a flight attendant who was stressed. And on and on. They're the best.

OTOH, you'd have to pay me to fly Delta again. Horribly rude staff (I had a gate agent refuse to look at my ticket on the assumption that I didn't actually have a reservation-- wtf???), late flights, bad food, bad everything. Bleh.

I still get scared when there's turbulance. When I was comming back to the UK after Arisia last year there was a ton of turbulance. They had to delay one of the drink services! One of the flight attendants sat with me for a little while, and explained that it was perfectly normal. I am kind of more used to it now, but I've made the trip to the UK five times in the last 14 months, plus a trip to Belize, and a short flight to Paris. I would have expected I'd be totally blase about it by now, but I'm not. It's the only way to get there tho.

I definitely thing that traveling more is a good solution to the problem. *plans to find archaeology work in good vacation spot*
