A moment please
Jul. 24th, 2002 10:29 amof silence for my "Bitch Goddess" bumper sticker
A casualty of the STUPID truck. *sigh*
So I have the baby back, VERY much relieved. I'm noticing just how good my car is, how tight my brakes (shaddup), how well it handles (I said shaddup!) etc.
The body shop did exactly as they usually do. It makes me wonder what will happen if I ever HIT someone, and understand why insurance rates are so damn high. The rear light, obviously, as it was in pieces, and also the "well" it sits in, also trashed. Ok expected, replaced. The rear panel, cracked almost lengthwise. Yup there you go, also replaced. The bumper. Sna? He didn't hit me in the bumper, why'd we replace that? Well there were some "scratches." But those were there. Well we just replaced it.
To the tune of almost three grand, for all repairs and paint. *BOGGLE*
(note - I'm not paying a dime outta this, at the moment anyway)
So the rental, the repairs, some of which I would have told them weren't his fault, but they were there and I guess the adjuster "assumed" they were from the accident, and I didn't think he'd been looking at the bumper.
I'm not sure what to do, I mean, I can't be "sure" that the scratches weren't from the accident, I've voiced my concerns, but DAMN I'm not paying for it if they decide that they don't want to pay for the new bumper, for some reason. I mean I would have said "Scratches! Dont' worry about the scratches."
So my swirly purple NIN sticker is gone. I actually think I've seen these since, I can find something I'm sure. But the "bitch goddess" which I think defines me, all in one sticker, might just be gone for good.
*le sigh*
If anyone spots that sticker, please grab it for me, to be reimbursed, or let me know where you saw it. Thanks.
Well I'm super late for a client, they'll get over it. I'm going to call them, go to the bank, and then go. My baby and I will be at ManRay later, for anyone who wants to admire my new paint job *giggle*

Date: 2002-07-24 09:18 am (UTC)it's the principle of the thing. I miss it, for some odd reason, and my *snicker* butt feels naked.
I'll look once I get a breather from work, rpobably this weekend. thanks for the tip. I think I got it at Newbury Comics, or Hot Topic a gabillion years ago (like within the first year I had it)

Date: 2002-07-24 10:10 am (UTC)the corner of his truck hit me, so I didn't really have the solid damage that backing into a pole would do.
I just didn't seen the need to replace the bumper, as it was not hit by the truck.
I'm not sure if I now need to file a police report, or if he's going to fight it. We thought it was just the panel and the light, and if I were him I 'd want to know just why and how my rates went up.
*sigh*
I just feel bad for him, I mean $3000 is a LOT and he's probably going to get hit with some serious points. Bleh.
