UGH! or tonight I sleep in the living room

I've been threatening to do so, like saying it will somehow scare the weather gods "oh shit she's going to sleep in the living room with the A/C on QUICK send a breeze!"

But the fact is I don't want to sleep on the couch. My living room is in a state of disarray, with boxes pulled apart and stuff all over the place. There's dust and clutter and it's not at all conductive to ease (this is why I don't let people come over. Mostly) I have to think that the A/C moves all that dust and nast around the room.

Plus I LIKE my bed, although it might be approaching time to get a new one. Its about 9 years old, and there are times it's not comfy. Maybe because it needs to be flipped - it has a sweet spot and every time I flip it I get away from the spot. I probably just need to give it up and sleep in the good spot until I get a new mattress. The new frame has helped IMMENSELY, the bed is sturdy and flat and doesn't wiggle or anything. (Minds out of the gutter kids, but I will say I have a higher level of comfort in inviting people over to spend the night in my bed now that I'm sure it won't hit the floor at midnight!)

But last night was the kicker. I stayed out of the bedroom, left the lights off but the fans on, kept my laptop in the living room and the A/C on in there til I went to bed. When I settled down I was nice and cool. I even started to drift to sleep. But then I woke up and started having flashes of heat (and I'm not so old that I should be having hot flashes, than you!) and found my self rolling over and over AND OVER again.

I mean I can't operate with broken sleep! That's worse than shorting myself sleep - sleeping solidly for 5 hours is WAY better than sleeping for 8+ where I'm waking up every hour for some reason. Especially when I'm waking up hot as hell.

It's this damn room. The master bedroom has the ability to have an A/C but it also does indeed vibrate. I do not want to move into that room, this is my bedroom. But being near the laundry room (IE right over it) makes it oddly warm. I've been known to open my window in the dead of winter and be nice and comfy. We barely turn on the heat except in the coldest of the winter, due to the radiating heat. But my location, and the viability of my windows makes installing an A/C unit impossible. Not to mention the stuff I have around, I can't really even set up a swamp cooler because of the way I've done things in the corner (add to that the lack of room for a portable, and my inability to get at the window easily. Can't waste the space!)

I've grinned and borne it for a long time I don't recall it being this bad. Usually I can at least sleep. This I don't like at all. So like it or not, before I go out I'm setting up the couch, and bringing my clock radio and chargers into the living room so I can just come home, turn on the A/C and sleep. I have an early morning tomorrow and I need my rest.

we've been running 5 A/C's and cooling the whole house. it's nice and almost as awesome as central air!

using fans in conjunction with A/C's works WONDERS too BTW.

yean, I'm avoiding an ugly task at werk.
