More snow. Yay.

tiamatladyUgh. It's not that the snow is bad, it's more the degernation of driving skills that's the bad. It frankly didn't take me any longer than usual to get to work, despite lots of snow coming down and wet roads. The kids were in school down the street from me at Alma Mater (jeebus I'm old. BUT I did find out recently that one of my favorite teachers STILL works there and has NOT retired or, as I'd feared, died. I think I need to take an AM off and visit the old fucker. He has a joke about Robespierre he promised to tell me when I was a grown up *evil grin*) which I found suprising but hey, less snow days means you get out earlier.
Anyway, right at the school is the highway onramp intersection. I live right at the 3/93/95 split, so there's infinate ways you can go. Except today, when every way led to gridlock. The highway was backed up so much, that there was nothing moving at the top of the ramps. BUT, intrepidly, people were blithely plowing into the intersection when their light turned green. Nice chunk of blocked traffic there.
Fortunately for me there was SOME movement, and I got a hole through the blockade, and went, followed by a very pissed off ford truck driver, who DESPERATELY wanted to be in front of me. I just don't know why. But all the way along, I'm confronted with STUPID people, from the pedestrians who just jump out into the road, with no regard for whats coming, and the street conditions making any accident tragic, and worse, MY FAULT. Or the people who STOP for the pedestrians, who force me to come to a sliding stop to allow for something that wasn't my choice.
By the time I got to work I was pretty angry, and now I'm kinda, weird. My cubemate has an odd drink smell, and there is SO many gift baskets and boxes around that I am, heaven forbid, already sick of brownies and cookies and donuts. Gah. Hell on earth.
Top that off with constant interruptions yesterday, that allowed me to get nothing done and DRAH-MAH with a client that put me in the middle of money bullshittery, that's resulted in the client taking his toys and going home. *sighs* Other clients who aren't getting work done while I'm tending to the drama, and me trying and failing to concentrate enough to get it worked out today. Meh I owe a client a workthrough shortly, IF I can find the info I need to base the report off of. Good times.
I can't wait for the weekend. I'm going to be doing SOME working but I'm also making time for goofing off, I'm so tired but sitting around will make that worse, not better.
Saturday:
= see client from last week. Hopefully get everything figured out. That might be awhile.
= make a commando run on the local Target for a few things, mostly car things.
= probably run and hide after the store run. Maybe treat myself to some thai or indian.
= maybe work on some photos for sale items, if I can get stuff up I cantake through January to make sales, then shut myself off as soon as it gets busy.
Sunday
= continue with the photos
= probably take M to see Sweeney Todd. I do love me a good Burton flick, but I'm not looking forward to this. I have a thing for musicals, and Sweeney Toddis one of my favorites. Helena Bonham Carter /= Angela Lansbury. Period. I've also heard there are songs missing, which defies everything. Meh.
= hit up Sanctuary in RI, to hang out with Chris and pretty much just get out of the house.
Monday
= Ugh, hit the office. I will have two payrolls to run, plus any projects I think I might want to look at.
= Hit Tuesday Client, to get his work done early and let him be able to do what he needs to ahead of his small vacation next week. He doesn't want me coming Tuesday. But, oddly, he's OK with me having to come New Years Eve, after work. Gee thanks. Butthead.
= Ceremony is on the list. I wish I could have a few drinkies and not have to drive home, but *shrugs* thems the breaks. We'll see how long I last, I'm just grateful it's open and it should be nice and empty on the roads.
Tuesday
= I think I might do nothing! Hopefully by then I will need to be setting up my new Ipod, I just can't decide if I should delay getting it nd saave $30 by ordering online, or fall to instant gratification, and pop by the Apple store NOW. In either case, I'm waiting on one more bonus before purchasing. I'm being FUCKING GOOD DAMMIT!
Anyway, i think I need some cheese with this Whine, so I have work to do. I'm stuck here, don't feel like going out in the snow, and I updated my Ipod last night. SOMEHOW I was suffering a lack of NIN and KMFDM. What the hell happened there? I was also working on aquiring some Yazoo, but then realized I actually like, oh, about two songs. very unlike my love of Depeche Mode. *shrugs*
