tiamatladyBecause I'm fairly certain someone who reads this just called a bit ago.
- if you call me from a number I don't recognize, I might not answer
- if you call me and I don't answer, I MIGHT be away from my phone. I do pee on occasion.
- if you call me from a number I don't recognize, I'm damn well not calling back unless I know who it is, and it's OK to return the call.
- if you call me from a number I DO recognize, and it's right after an angst filled LJ, I'm SO not answering the phone.
- if you call me during the day - remember I'm at work, and might not be able to just chat.
The person who just called, from a number I don't recognize didn't leave me a voice mail. I have NO idea why you called, I don't even know who it is that called. And honestly, if you're calling to ask me a favor, making sure you "get" me on the phone isn't the way to go - I'm more likely to do favors when I can do them in my own time. OBVIOUSLY this might not be the case, this could be someone who needs me right away. In that case, I don't KNOW that because you didn't leave me a message!
So, in closing, leave a message. it's MY voicemail, noone else checks it. Tell me just what the VM message asks, who you are, what you want, and how to get a hold of you when I have a minute. If it's important, and you can't leave a message, leave me a ping on an email, or LJ comment, because OBVIOUSLY I check that. I DO step away, so if you're bleeding or stuck in a dangerous situation, please call an ambulance or the police, because if you were able to dial my number, you can dial 911.
