tiamatladyI'm working on a beading project for myself. A necklace of sorts. What I SHOULD do is throw my clothes on, run to Newbury Comics and get a gift certificate for the step-niece, and run to Michaels for elastic to bead with. Perhaps some Tiger Tail, some clasps, some crimp ends. Maybe a book or two I have an idea for a collar, or rather one that sits on my collarbone (like a torque) with matching strands hanging down. I'm thinking I'm going to just work on this today for ME. I might also organize my GIANT amount of cross stitch projects. When I went through a few of the boxes I found more thread and half finished projects then any woman would ever need. I think what I want is a computerized pattern maker, where I can take pictures and stuff and turn them into patterns. I have an idea for a sewing box and needle case design, and some cute kitty patterns for KA I think this year will be the year I try and make things for next year. I'm thinking of storage bags, one for each of my close friends, something to keep jewelry or keepsakes in, in original unique patterns. Maybe even fill them with appropriate stones for their personalities, to help them maintain energy or help them dream.
I really like that idea, it's been a very long time since I've given gifts any amount of thought. And if I start now, they'll be ready for birthdays and next Xmas. And it's something I can do gradually, instead of having all the cost all at once.
OK, that said, I think I need to get into the shower. My neck is healing quite nicely, and I need it to be clean so I can apply the stuff that appears to be working. Yay stuff!
EDIT - there are a NUMBER of software programs that will generate patterns. There's one that advertises ease of converting pictures to patterns, including generating a chart listing based on the colors. I think I'm going to download the demo for that one, and see how good it is. And I think I need to invest in the bible of cross stitch colors. This software is $99, but Iif I use it it would be worth it. Heh - I can do actual patterns of pets, or pictures.
