I don't know if I've been busy or lazy.
Wednesday was sucky, sorta. Money wise yep. I ended up talking to my new client regarding going in to the office. Seems she wanted some time to do some work. OK, I'll be in around noonish. I run a smidge late, but DO drop off my car at Firestone for work. I almost took it back - they were having customer service issues, and were very abrupt, although not rude. There was something going on behind the scenes, and I didn't want to leave my car but *shrugs* I walk up to the station, and they call just as I'm settling down to wait. So you mean I need everything I told you I did? Shocker. it'll cost how much? Can you detail that? Did you know I'm not supposed to pay for the alignment, like the account I KNOW YOU looked at says? Yeah, adjust the bill away. It cost about what I had expected which pleased me.
I'll also say - it's TOO EFFING COLD for me to be just wearing the grey sweater. Ok, I had on the new shawl too, but I didn't have gloves (due to my old gloves having monster holes in them) and I was wearing the short skirt. Dammit. I think I need to drag out the mid weather coat. To wear with the sweater. Not the swing winter coat yet.
Anyway I get to the office. Get the work done, took a few shortcutsin the work I'm sure will come back to haunt me. but we're also the auditor, so we'll fix any mistakes, and I'm not finished in there. I only got about 3 hours billable, but they bought me tea, and left me mostly alone with an Internet connection to boot, so I was able to alternate work and goof.
Then I go across town to next meeting. Where I'm very ealry. So I wait and wait and wait. Noone shows. I finally decide to eat, and I'm done about when the meeting should have been getting over. So, my ass went home. You betcha I'm charging them for the time.
See, I could have been home hours before. I'd had to give Firestone my debit card number over the phone, since they closed at 7. I got there at 8:15. And because Teh Unit couldn't "wait for me" since she had to get to her BF's and SIT ON HER ASS, I had to let them leave the keys in the car, and it UNLOCKED. I was SO tense, I figured it would either be gone, or they'd have locked it. I got lucky, it was there and unlocked. And REALLY well repaired, I feel much better about him surviving the Season's driving, letting me get into position to buy a new one.
So I get ready, in an outfit I'd planned in my mind, also the same one I ended up in in NYC on Saturday night, so it was easy. GAH - Every Cockroach in the "Scene" was out last night. Some more annoying than others. I at LEAST got to dance, and the sheer number of badly dressed newbies was astonishing. (As well as some badly dressed regulars who should know better) it's sad that the free entry was the reason some of them came out. OK and the not-a-school night. but really, if you have the money to drink like THAT you can afford to pay $5 to get in.
I'm pretty sure I saw my old not-pal Kendall too. I felt a couple of people looking at me like "Is that HER?" I mean, it's been a while, my hair is short, my attitude NOT one putting up with any shit last night, and the outfit, no piece older than last year. Plus a lot more flashy than I used to. I'm pretty sure I saw Kevin a couple of times - I hope I didn't he looked AWFUL if I did. Every time I see one of them I can't get over how old they look. Like the ages aren't being kind to them at all. Kendall, if that was her, however, looked unchanged. She'd have dyed her hair black (Ahem *snorts* she's still living with the rents. Yes, so am I, but I'm not still doing things to shock my mom.) and have on an outfit I remember her wearing a lot. So nothing has changed there. Like she put all the goff stuff away, and is now cleaning the musty smell out of them and coming out, with her same old friends. Seriously, I've gone through a lot of people, and time, and I know unless you grow WITH someone they keep you the same. I wonder if she still has the same entitled attitude she had when things went South? She's not so young and cute anymore. It's got to be annoying in a 31 year old. I've learned, and am still learning from CB, that there are INDEED people out there who appreciate you for your gifts and skillz, and not just for the fake face that you put to the world. HE'D have scoffed at her, and seen right through her. heh.

feline left, and pretty much crawled into bed when I got home. I decided to sleep late today, but didn't feel like posting or anything, just looking around.
I rolled into work about 2ish, they all left at 4ish, after driving me effing crazy with "Do these things NOW and they're all interconnected, and we're going to criticize something" I'm just glad I managed to NOT have to correct myself to the big boss, just one of the others, who understood my confusion. Came home and spent some cash on some supplies, and gloves (*yay gloves!*) I got a big book of sewing skillz, and I wanted to retake up crocheting some. I bought some practice thread, and a big fuzzy yarn ball, but we'll see if I actually do it. It was harder getting into the flow, I need to practice quite a bit.
I'm gonna go do that now, again, for a bit. After I get a bit more iced tea, then I'm off to bed. I'd like to get up early.
