Re: Vaseline - the areas freaking out didn't touch any dye, directly. Dye got on my scalp and hairline, but those are fine. I'm figuring something in the "rinse" cycle is doing it. I don't know if Vaseline would help, considering i can't put it on the worst spots - around my eyes. The corners are NASTY - all dry skin. *ickies*
re: Gloves - See THIS is where I'm thinking the problem is - I purchased reuseable gloves from Sally's when I started buying dye and stuff there. Ever since I stoped useing one shot gloves I started having this problem. I actually bought a second pair as the first were too big and i'm still having issues. My thought is there's dye stains on the gloves, and my skin isn't liking it.
I'm going to do my thing one more time, with new, disposable gloves. If my skin is OK, it was the gloves. If it freaks, it's the dye and how I'm doing things. I think the whole "bend over sick, get face covered in dye water" could be part of the culprit. And I'll do a spot test next time first.
It has to be something with the process, it's the only common denominator.
