This one's too funny
Mar. 20th, 2008 01:39 pmnot to share. Work sucks, and I'm sneaking in, but I'm resentful again.
Recently, in the past 6 months or so, maybe a year, just more frequently recently, my bank has been sending me info regarding home equity lines of credit, and their fantastic rates, and they'd be MORE than willing to give me the money, just apply now!
Except I don't own anything I could take a line of credit out on. MAYBE my car, but I'm still paying the note on that. (Soon to be done YAY!) So, I rip these up very well, and toss them.
Also recently, this time within 2 months or so, my bank has opened a new branch, which is Teh Awesome, as it has a drive up ATM that takes deposits, unlike their older ATMs. I don't even have to get my fat ass out of the car anymore! They also have a super eager new manager, who has called me several times, regarding one thing or another. She's actually going to help me with something, but I can't handle that until April.
I JUST NOW get yet ANOTHER call from them. Now that I think of it, it wasn't from the new branch, but when they introduced themselves, I figured it was her, about the above issue, especially when she said "Following up."
BUT THEN - she says "We've sent you new information on our home equity lines, would you be interested in chatting with me about them?"
Me: *pauses* Um, you know I don't own a house, right?
Her: *longer pause* What?
Me: Yeah, I don't own anything I have equity in. You've been sending me these things for months, and I figured it was just a mass mailing, and I threw them out.
Her" *pause* Oh.
Me: So, uh, thanks? But I really have nothing.
Her: Okay. Uh, Thanks. Bye.
I'm PEEING Myself laughing, it's not the call it's the shock in her voice when I told her. She totally fell out of professional zone. She should have apologized, assured me I'm off her list, and thank me for my time, and apoligized again.
Heheheh - "Uh, what?" *LOL*
