How did I get so tired???
I'm hauling to bed now. A full half hour early. I'm just - toast.
I don't know where the rest of my day went.
*yawn*

What a day

I just got back from a meeting at a client office (which I still do once in a while) and I'm spent already. I just want to go home and sleep and can't. Worse, this was in town, and while I think the roads are clearer, in some places they're not and the traffic is typical crap, with a lot of backedup deliveries from yesterday added on top. Of the Shit Cake.

Again, I'm thrilled I didn't have a huge commute yesterday. I'm so sorry for everyone who did.

And so while I'm waiting for my lunch to kick in, because I was doing a serious "Get to office, eat, beat on rock with sticks, unga bunga" thing at the end of the trip, that'll teach me not to stop and eat when I'm feeling lightheaded', I figured I'd do a quick post.

Mostly what's been on my mind about swapping versus selling. And to be completely specific - WHY am I swapping MY crap for MORE crap? Quick answer is there's no money to be made in selling. I poked about some stuff yesterday on Amazon, and it would COST me money to sell some books. I really need to remember, when I'm selling, to COVER my damn costs, but in some cases it's just not feasible. If I want something to sell, listing it low is key, especially on Amazon where a bunch of bookstores, trying to get rid of backlog are listing them lower than me, because they can afford to.

Oh, and I FINALLY found a listing for the Book Place north of the city, that they list their books with a marketplace, and sell them for a dollar or two, plus shipping, and THAT's where they make their money. I KNEW that but there's something different about finding it. It's a niche market - some people just want the stuff out, make it convenient for them to get it to you, and bam, instant inventory. And then there's finding the real diamond amongst a bunch of fakes you bought for $10 at an estate sale kind of thing - people who DON'T know what they're getting rid of, but YOU know what to look for. Or, as I call it, the reason I haven't sold my baseball cards yet. I don't know what they're worth, am I selling something worth a LOT of money, to someone who knows better and intends to rip me off?

So I'm back totally to square one. I'm giving serious thought to renting a table at a local flea market once the Season is over and putting them ALL out, for a quarter apiece. I'll at LEAST make the money back for the table for sure. I wanted to list them ALL up somewhere, then join some mailing lists and say "here, go here, tell me what you want" But I've trying to do that FOR TWO YEARS, it's just not happening.

Huh. Maybe one of the consignment type places. M offered, but frankly, nothing is getting done around the house and if I leave it, it won't.

This weekend I'm hopefully working on taking some pictures of stuff, and doing some postings. We'll see. But for now I'm cutting back on the TRADING fury, since I don't want to replace with new, I want Gone. And I might just have to dump them on someone else, take the loss, and move on.

Stuff to ponder, in the five minutes I have before tax season.
