Good thing, I think?
Sep. 17th, 2007 01:21 amI realized tonight that I was going to run out of time to do EVERYTHING I wanted, so I went with the thing I wanted MOST.
I bought a Knifty Knitter a fw weeks ago. I've been wanting to pick up a few things, and had "ideas" of making some gloves for Whitby. Common sense has set in and I've decided to order something from Ebay instead. However, I want to SOMEDAY make myself the gloves and armbands I want, so I think I need to start learning. I didn't want to go house on buying yarn (I know how some of you people are, I'm determined to not let knitting/crocheting go the way of my crossstiching, I have ONE BAG and No More of supplies) so I bought two cheaper skeins at WalMart for the purpose of doing Granny Squares. I have an eye on an afghan, like my grandmother used to make, in colors that don't have me gagging. Eventually this will work it's way up to Baby Afghans for some of you popping out the kiddies. My grandmother's afghan is one of my most prized possessions, despite it being pink, blue and white. I DID find one in black and greens, which isn't the one I used as a baby and needs a washing, but you get the idea.
Anyway, I also wanted a cozy for my Ipod and the new earphones I bought yesterday. Microcenter was having deal on Sony earbuds, the loop the ears but still go into the ear. They're just like the ones I LIKE without the headband. So, I found a neat ball at Walmart, and actually made one. it helped me learn some basic steps and sure, I might remake it, but I'm pretty pleased with actually sitting down and DOING a small project.
Of course, now I want the pieces on the damn yarn instructions. There's a hood/cowl, armwarmers, and shrug that I want ALL in the same colors. Gah. GAH even.
Tomorrow I need to start getting stuff to gether and emailing Velvet Garden. I'll probably miss this week's deadline, but I need to get a better scale. I miscalculated one shipping item, and I can't afford to let that happen for some of the cheaper items. I had very little luck on Ebay so the only things going up there are NON gothy type items.
Meh. I think I need a day off of WORK to do some of this stuff. hell I'd almost give anything to QUIT or get canned and have a month off to clean up and rest. *sighs* It's not realistic though, and I will just have to look forward all the harder to Whitby. I need to chat with Pet, I think some nice long walks at night will help clear my head (among other things. *winks*)
Tomorrow I need to make sure I take some time for me. I want to pop over to Building 19, see if they have any more cheap yarn there, then maybe stop at the other WalMart and get the other stuff I want. Then I need to email a few people, about plans. I also need to schedule myself some time to do outfit runthroughs for Whitby. And also buy some of that other hair dye and redo my hair. It's decidedly gray right now. *sighs*
I'm procrastinating. It's off to bed shortly.
