You know what's better than A/C?
A/C I'm not paying for.
Took a trip to CPA #1's today. Was going to put off til afternoon, but she needed one thing done at client I do bank reconciliations for, so I arrainged to go there early enough for clerk lady (she of the perfectly timed checks for travelling) to still have a day and go watch her kid's ball practice. With popsicles.
Anyway, that happened about 10:15ish after I got up late (surprised?) due to headacheyness. I'm sleepin' til I wake up tomorrow, I tell you what. Then I pop onto the highway to the office. Which is in Mashpee. On Cape Cod.
Now for those of you not in New England - Cape Cod is an old indian phrase for "All the fucking beaches are down here and you're a LOOOS-AH if you don't go to them every weekend in the summer. 'Tahhhded." Which means backup on a two lane highway. There used to be a Rotary (Roundabout for the Brits) right at a LARGE BRIDGE that backed up traffic for miles. But that's been removed favoring a true "drive right onto the bridge or take an exit" scenario. So, I frankly have no idea why traffic was backed up FOR FIVE MILES. *facepalm* I left my client around 11ish, and got here about a half hour ago 1:30PMish. I DID stop for coffee, and lunch, and have eaten it and setup in the office. but my time on the road was FUCKING UNECESSARY! Especially since I got a call, about 10 minutes away from the office, on the blessedly empty side roads, from CPA #1 telling me "OH hai, I'm not in your office and I thought of somfin, and it's OK if DO NOT WANT office." *facepalm the second*
But, being here now, and with an hour's drive back and there was a bit of an accident going the other way, plus sun and free A/C (which is LOVERLY) AND Intorweebs, which I can stream Pandora or Bleach on, I think I'll stick around a bit, or three, and get some of my own work done that I'm offputting. Maybe make some phone calls or get some other planning done. I'm also here with the Vaio of Doom and will be installing the tax programs for my own use. Wheeee.
Plus, I allowed myself lunch at my favorite place here, so I'm pretty full, and cool, and hey, it's quiet here, and I won't be interrupted. That's good.
OK, I should get to it. I don't necessarily want to be here forever today!
